  • Patent number: 11887751
Abstract: A composite billet includes an array of textured-powder bars in a geometry that is compatible with assembly and drawing of a billet with LAR˜1:1. A method is presented of compressing the bars suitable for the billet geometry in an inert gas environment. Methods of drawing of the billet control the deformation of the composite billet during area-reducing draw to fine wire so that the shape and registration of the constituent bars is preserved. Lastly a method is disclosed to fabricate a cable-in-conduit conductor containing the textured-powder Bi-2212/Ag wires that enables robust forming of windings and also provides in-cable containment of a buffer gas flow under high pressure during the high-temperature heat treatment of the winding that is required to produce optimum superconducting performance in the winding.

  • Publication number: 20240026852
Abstract: A system in a water body uses buoyant force of gaseous Hydrogen and Oxygen to generate electrical power with one or more turbines that includes power resulting from the buoyant force while transporting the Hydrogen or Oxygen to a higher elevation, without loss of electrons, for conversion to electricity at the higher elevation. Conversion of Hydrogen and Oxygen to water through a Hydrogen Fuel Cell or by burning at the higher elevation may generate additional steam power, hydropower, or purified water. Portable submersible modules may transport the system below or above the water to and from the base of a plumbing portion of the system. The amount of gaseous fuel energy available at the higher elevation is not detrimentally impacted by the generation of electricity by the turbine.

  • Publication number: 20230420089
Abstract: A synthetic generation of healthcare documents for use in training a classifier is described herein. Initially, a multiplicity of electronic forms are received in memory of a host computing system and data extracted from a specific common field located in each of the forms. A statistical metric is then computed for the specific common field a value synthetically generated for the specific common field according to the computed statistical metric. Finally, the synthetically generated value is inserted into the specific common field of a training version of the electronic forms and the training version of the electronic forms persisted as part of a training data set for a classifier adapted to classify the multiplicity of electronic forms.

  • Publication number: 20230418978
Abstract: Batch de-identification of unstructured health care documents includes performing optical character recognition (OCR) upon a form-based document so as to produce an initial set of terms. Amongst the initial set of terms, initial specific terms are identified which contain protected information. Each of the identified initial specific terms are then replaced with synthetically generated corresponding terms. Subsequently, additional OCR is performed upon the form-based document so as to produce a new set of terms and new specific terms are identified amongst the new set of terms which are determined to contain protected information. Finally, the new specific terms are compared to the initial specific terms and the form-based document is then added to a repository of de-identified documents only if none of the new specific terms are equivalent to corresponding ones of the initial specific terms. But otherwise, the form-based document is flagged in error.

  • Publication number: 20230341380
Abstract: A lateral flow test kit includes a cassette and a swab. The cassette comprises a vial of liquid closed by seal; a test strip; a passage leading from the exterior of the cassette to the vial; and a conduit communicating between the vial and the test strip. The swab can be inserted along the passage to cause a tip of the swab to enter the vial and release liquid from the vial. The liquid flows past a head of the swab to extract a sample and deliver it through the conduit 34 to the test strip. The passage may comprise an obstruction, which requires the user to push the swab past it with a force sufficient to penetrate the seal. The obstruction may also prevent removal of the used swab from the cassette. A distal end of the passage may be curved to deflect the tip of the swab towards the seal at a more favourable angle.
