Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention includes an apparatus for contacting a plurality of contact locations of a semiconductor device. The apparatus includes a housing, a support member, a plurality of probe members, and an adhesive substance. The housing has a plurality of apertures that provides a low leakage pathway for high frequency signals to reach the semiconductor device through the plurality of probe members. The plurality of probe members are aligned on the support member and the adhesive substance secures the plurality of probe members to the supporting member. The housing, supporting member, and adhesive substance match in thermal expansion to reduce the error in alignment between the plurality of contact locations and the plurality of probe members over a temperature variance.

Manipulation is achieved by fixing the orientation or position of a displayed graphical object with reference to an apparatus, such as the display itself or a proxy device, detecting a change in orientation of that apparatus and editing the orientation of the graphical object based on the detected change.

Abstract: The bag opening assembly (8) of an automatic bag loader includes a pair of contra-rotating air-pervious endless belts (9, 10). Opposing pinch portions (24, 25) of the belts are provided for grasping opposing sides (5a, 5b) of the hag (1) therebetween and working flights of each belt are opposingly orientated and diverge from the pinch portions. A partial vacuum is drawn in a space (41, 42) adjacent each working flight (38, 39), formed in a shoe (36, 37) which supports the thereby separate the sides to open the bag while it is advanced between the diverging working flights. At least on of the rotary members (26, 27) is displaceable and an actuator (40) is connected thereto to press the pinch portions together to grasp the sides of the unopened bag and to separate the pinch portions to release the opened bag.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to communication devices which monitor an audio environment at a remote location and convey to a user a representation of that audio environment. The “representation” may be an abstraction of the audio environment at the remote location or may be a measure of decibels or some other quality or parameter of the audio environment. In some embodiments, the communication devices are two-way devices which allow users at remote locations to share an audio environment. In some embodiments, the communication devices are one way devices. In some embodiments, the communication devices may have the form of a window and be arranged to present sound in a manner that mimics sound received through a window. In such embodiments, the more open the window is, the more sound is relayed by the communication device.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to sound playback and editing apparatus. The editing apparatus uses user interaction to allow the user to instinctively modify recorded sound. This can be achieved by converting a quality of the user's physical interactions with the editing apparatus into instructions for processing the sound. For example, in one embodiment the user can mix sound files by ‘mixing’, i.e. shaking, physical representations of those sound files (such as the recording medium on which the files are stored) alone or together.

More particularly, disclosed is an end-to-end system and method that facilitates the licensing or sale of an author's copyrighted work(s) to third parties through a database of copyrighted works accessible to such users, such database being searchable based on certain predetermined criteria to allow the buyer/licensee to efficiently search for the desired genre or style of artwork for a given purpose. Also disclosed is a system and method of providing users with customized content lists (such as musical playlists, visual artwork lists, or textual copylists) based on subjective criteria that are objectivized using predetermined quality control guidelines.

Abstract: A method for transferring fluids and personnel between a work vessel and an offshore marine platform includes the placement of an elongated self-supporting frame between the work vessel and the marine platform. A walkway is provided on the frame. Pipe racks are provided on the frame, one pipe rack on each side of the frame so that a pair of pipe racks are on opposing sides of the frame. Hand rails are mounted in between the walkway and each pipe rack. A fluid holding pan extends under the walkway and the flowlines. In this fashion, fluid that falls from either a pipe rack or a walkway to the pan can travel through a common drain or collection area.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a screw pile comprising a shaft and at least two blades extending outwardly from the shaft. Each blade has a leading edge that contacts earth as the screw pile is screwed into the ground. The leading edge includes a swept back portion adapted to deflect rocks that come into contact with the swept back portion of the leading edge during insertion of the screw pile into the ground. In one embodiment, the leading edge of each blade includes two or more straight edge portions extending at different angles to each other. The straight edge portions may include an inner edge portion extending from the shaft and the swept back portion extending at an angle from the inner edge portion.

Abstract: A sewer overflow relief device for mounting at a top end of a sewer overflow relief pipe includes a top cover having at least one outside air intake and an air flow control mechanism for controlling the flow of outside air into the sewer overflow relief pipe. In use, the device prevents outside water from entering the sewer and the device may be ejected from the sewer overflow relief pipe by sewage pressure pushing against the device, thereby allowing the sewer overflow relief pipe to overflow.

The holder includes a planar main section constructed of a flexible material as well as a roll support which is pivotally mounted to the lower end of the main body between an operable position and a collapsed position. In its operable position, the roll support extends outwardly from the main body and supports the lower end of a roll inserted over the main body. Conversely, in its collapsed position, the roll support folds flatly against the main body for shipping and high density packing.
