  • Publication number: 20140012510
Abstract: The present embodiments harness a wide variety of capabilities of modern smartphones, and combine these capabilities with information from a continuous glucose monitor to provide diabetics and related people with more information than the continuous glucose monitor can provide by itself. The increased information provides the diabetic with an increased likelihood of good diabetes management for better health.

  • Publication number: 20120108934
Abstract: A system is provided including a continuous analyte sensor that produces a data stream indicative of a host's analyte concentration and a device that receives and records data from the data stream from the continuous analyte sensor. The data received from the continuous analyte sensor may be used to provide alarms to the user when the analyte concentration and/or the rate of change of analyte concentration, as measured by the continuous analyte sensor, is above or below a predetermined range. Data received from the continuous analyte sensor may also be used to prompt the diabetic or caregiver to take certain actions, such as to perform another single point blood glucose measurement. The device may provide for toggling between modes that allow or prevent the display of glucose concentration values associated with the continuous glucose sensor.

  • Publication number: 20110320130
Abstract: System and method for communicating glucose concentration information between devices of a continuous glucose monitoring system is provided. The continuous glucose monitoring system can include a sensor module generates a glucose concentration measurement data and transmits the data to one or more further devices of the continuous glucose monitoring system. The further devices can include a receiver unit and one or more secondary display devices. The receiver unit can be configured to be a stand-alone device of or physically connect to a secondary display device. A user interface can also be provided that provides enhanced functionality for using the continuous glucose monitoring system.

  • Publication number: 20050273904
Abstract: A carrier assembly in the form of a “Back Pack” structure which includes a protective garment primarily designed to protect a wearer from rain, cold, etc. The protective garment is mounted within a hollow interior portion of the base of the back pack carrier and is attached there to such that there is a fixed, permanent attachment between the protective garment and the base of the back pack whether the garment is being worn by a person or stored within the back pack. One or more additional compartments are formed on the base for the purpose of carrying additional articles wherein proper access openings etc. are provided to allow entrance and access to anyone of the various compartments defining the hollow interior of the subject article carrier.

  • Patent number: 5541933
Abstract: Disclosed is a Digital Service Unit (DSU) which, in response to a digital signal from a Digital Data System (DDS) network, uses different techniques for different possible DDS services (include DDS-SC, CC64, and basic DDS services) to determine the type of DDS service providing the digital signal services and the line rates for such services. With respect to DDS-SC service, the DSU utilizes the fact that this DDS-SC service provides network defined frames of data to which the DSU tries establish frame synchronization at different line rates. The DSU also resolves the fact the DDS-SC service and CC64 service have the same 72 KBPS line rate by detecting the presence or absence of a control bit. For Basic DDS service, the DSU monitors the received signal for a plurality of possible invalid conditions. For each line rate, an error counter for that line rate is incremented each time an invalid condition is detected.

  • Patent number: 5177739
Abstract: In a Digital Data System (DDS) a method and apparatus for providing multipoint multiport service. Differences in time delays through the network are compensated by an alignment training wherein the delays from each remote station are measured at a Central station. The Central station determines how much delay to insert at each remote station and then instructs the remote stations to insert the delays. This allows all inbound data to be aligned in time so that when the data are combined within the network by the Multipoint Junction Units (MJU) data errors are not produced. Aligned frames are combined in the MJU operating in data mode in a logical AND operation so that marks transmitted by inactive ports are combined with data from active ports to produce a composite signal which is passed to the Central DSU.
