  • Publication number: 20140043339
Abstract: A system includes a first computing device that includes a memory configured to store instructions. The first computing device also includes a processor to execute the instructions to perform a method that includes receiving data representing a collection of line segments that represent a glyph. The method also includes, for each line segment, defining a cell that substantially encapsulates the line segment. At least one side of the cell is defined by bisecting an angle defined by the line segment and an adjacent line segment. The method also includes determining a value for a portion of the defined cell based upon the distance between the portion of the cell and the corresponding line segment.

  • Publication number: 20120325227
Abstract: A vaporizer and method of vaporizing a botanical material is described. Embodiments of the apparatus include a self-contained, fully enclosed, battery operated vaporizer having an air inlet and a mouthpiece. The vaporizer includes a window for viewing a botanical material contained therein and a heating element that is also visible through the window and through an air inlet. The vaporizer also includes a push-button switch that rapidly provides power to heat air, which is then drawn through the botanical material by inhaling. Embodiments of the method include utilizing a push-button switch for heating vaporizer air and viewing the glow of the heating element as a signal that the vaporizer is ready for use.

  • Publication number: 20120306852
Abstract: A system includes a computing device for producing a representation of a graphical element on a two dimensional set of image points. A metric value is calculated for each image point in the two dimensional set of image points. The computer device is configured to assign a visual property to image point in the two dimensional set of image points based upon the corresponding metric value. The computing device is also configured to present the assigned visual properties of the two dimensional set of image points as being offset from another two dimensional set of image points to provide a three dimensional appearance of the graphical element.

  • Patent number: 7457892
Abstract: A device for controlling data communication flow to a data buffer of an integrated circuit is disclosed. The device receives data communicated from a transmitting device. The received data is placed in a data buffer in memory. The data buffer is defined by a set of buffer descriptors, whereby a number of free buffer descriptors in the set of buffer descriptors is indicative of the amount of free space in the data buffer. A communications controller determines whether the data buffer is subject to overflowing by determining when the number of free buffer descriptors moves below a threshold level (a watermark). The communications controller sends a request to the transmitting device to stop transmitting data in response to determining that the data buffer is possibly subject to an overflow condition, indicating that the data buffer is nearly full.

  • Publication number: 20080027793
Abstract: A method for a permit issuer to issue parking permits to a parking user for a parking space of a parking owner. According to the method, information is provided to the parking user which the user may in turn use to communicate with the permit issuer through electronic communication. The permit issuer provides cost information to the parking user who in turn makes a permit selection. The permit issuer enters into a transaction and collects payment from the parking user and issues a permit. The permit issuer makes current permit information available to the parking owner for the duration of any parking privileges for which a permit has been issued to enable the owner to verify the existence of parking privileges. Call records may be archived in the event of a dispute. The system is fast, without membership or pre-registration.
