  • Patent number: 6983877
Abstract: An automatic hole punch is disclosed for creating holes in a sheave of sheet material. The automatic hole punch is preferably user-selectable between punching modes, such as two-hole and three-hole modes. A motor is coupled to a camshaft by a gear train. The cam shaft carries a plurality of cams each having an associated punch. As the camshaft rotates, the cams sequentially drive corresponding punches. However, depending on the selected modality, one or more punches may be idle by not being engaged with their respective cams, thus resulting in varying combinations of driven punches resulting in different hole patterns. Finally, a spacer can be inserted into a material receiving slot for adjusting the relative positioning of the material to the punches to properly position the hole pattern along an edge of the material to be punched.

  • Publication number: 20040206660
Abstract: A basket comprises one or more bendable sheets of material that are configured to cooperate to bend and engage their cooperating edges to form a continuous basket side wall. A bottom frame is attachable to the sheets of material to provide a bottom to the basket and lend rigidity to the side wall. An upper ring is configured to attach to the sheets of material opposite the bottom frame to define an upper opening and further provide rigidity to the basket. The basket may be disassembled such as for storage, shipping, and transportation in a flattened configuration.

  • Patent number: 6727819
Abstract: A pool guard alarm provides constant security at one or more entrances to a pool area. The alarm utilizes a delay timer to provide an authorized entrant the ability to enter the pool area and reset the alarm before an audible alarm is sounded. The alarm further guards against pool entrances being left inadvertently open by sounding an audible alarm if a pool access point is not closed within a specified time period after being opened.

  • Patent number: 6390397
Abstract: An automatic paper shredder is capable of sequentially cutting up to 20 sheets of 20-lb bond paper, up to 9 inches wide. The device has adjustable holders for attachment to conventional wastebaskets of varying shapes. A feed tray holds the stack of paper. Upon selection of either manual (ON) or automatic (AUTO) operation of the machine, a single sheet of paper is fed into the machine by a roller as are subsequent sheets, if any. With the three-way switch set to AUTO, any sheets on the tray are detected by a sensor and are automatically fed into the machine for shredding. A plug-in motor contained in the housing of the machine drives a plurality of shafts for the feed roller and knife rollers. The knife rollers are configured to either shred the paper into about ⅜-inch wide strips or to cross-cut the paper into a plurality of smaller pieces.

  • Patent number: 5686890
Abstract: A lock and alarm device for securing a door activates an alarm of 110-120 decibels for approximately 60 seconds if a force on the door exceeding about 20-30 pounds is detected. An arrangement comprising a dead bolt or handle lock assembly includes an alarm unit mounted on a plate adjacent the lock for detecting forced entry.

  • Patent number: 5652568
Abstract: A security device providing alarm and chime units is an inexpensive and unobtrusive system which the typical homeowner can easily install and operate. The device includes a housing having a front plate which replaces the standard residential wall outlet plate. A motion detecting sensor, a chime unit, an alarm unit capable of at least 110 decibels, and a converter to convert the alternating current to direct current are also included in the housing. A switch is provided on the housing for setting the device from OFF to ALARM or CHIME, as desired. The present invention mounts at standard electrical wall outlets and uses the available alternating current (AC) to power the device, thus eliminating the worry of a possibly discharged power source.

  • Patent number: 5473310
Abstract: A pool guard alarm provides constant security at the entrance to a pool using a delayed alarm to allow access to the pool area by authorized persons. Younger, unsupervised children are indicated by the alarm since a reset button located at least 5 feet above the ground must be pressed within 10 seconds of the opening of the gate or door. The alarm is battery-operated and cannot be turned off. A magnetic sensor is used to detect entrance to the indoor or outdoor pool area.
