Patent number: 7392699Abstract: A device for use in measuring stratified fluid levels in a container is disclosed. The device has a microwave transceiver sensor head attached to a waveguide sensor rod which is enclosed by a gauge tube. The rod end tubes are comprised of sections which allow them to be assembled or disassembled in a close quarters environment. The tube has a plurality of circumferentially and longitudinally spaced slots providing for the equalization of stratified fluids within the tube. The rod is generally radially centered in the tube by the use of a plurality of spacers which reside in notches in the rod. The spacers are adapted to not penetrate the slots in the tube. The rod can be removed from the tube for cleaning without draining the tank. Additionally, once the rod is removed from the tube, a cleaner brush or scraper can be used to remove any barnacles or other debris from within the tube and the longitudinal slots in the tube.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2007Date of Patent: July 1, 2008Assignee: Ohmart/VEGA CorporationInventors: Juergen Motzer, Juergen Dietmeier, Neil T. Publication number: 20070181764Abstract: A mounting bracket is adapted for mounting a field device, as well as to a field device that for the purpose of attachment to a mounting surface comprises such a mounting bracket. The mounting bracket comprises (a) a first bracket strap which includes a first rotary bearing, (b) a second bracket strap, spaced apart from the first bracket strap by a space, including a second rotary bearing and (c) at least one movable lock on one of the two bracket straps. The rotary bearings are designed to articulate on two opposing sides a field device that may be arranged in the space so that the field device may be rotated, on an imaginary axis that extends through the space, from a first angle position to a second angle position. The lock is designed to engage the field device in order to in this way resist a torque of the field device in that said lock converts the torque to a pair of forces which is removable by way of one of the rotary bearings and by way of the lock itself.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 23, 2007Publication date: August 9, 2007Inventors: Josef Fehrenbach, Klaus Kienzle, Christian Sum, Juergen Motzer, Thomas Deck, Juergen Skowaisa, Holger Sack

Publication number: 20070176823Abstract: Both in potential separation in the microwave path, and in potential separation directly between the two-wire loop and the output circuit, the quality of signal transmission may be negatively affected. A filling level radar device with potential separation within the electronics unit is stated, wherein potential separation does not separate analogue signals but instead separates digital signals or direct-current-free alternating signals. For example, the separation line leads through digital signal connections or alternating-voltage signal connections. As a result of this the expenditure for potential separation may be reduced and the transmission quality may be improved.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 18, 2007Publication date: August 2, 2007Inventors: Karl Griessbaum, Juergen Motzer, Thomas Deck, Josef Fehrenbach, Winfried Rauer

Patent number: 7150639Abstract: Described is an input and output device for inputting or outputting data of an electronic equipment. The input and output device is designed for being detachably mounted to the electronic equipment in at least two different positions. The input and output device features a first contacting arrangement which, independent of the selected position in the mounted state of the input and output device on the electronic equipment, electrically comes in connection with a second contacting arrangement present on the electronic equipment. Patent number: 6897639Abstract: A two-wire sensor (6) is attached to one pole of a voltage distribution source (U) by an initial connecting line (V1) in which a current-limiting resistor (R1) is positioned and is attached to the other pole by a second connecting line (V2). Parallel to the series connection consisting of the two-wire sensor (S) and the current-limiting resistor (R1) is at least one limiting diode (D1). A current regulator (SR) which is attached to the poles of the power source (U) regulates a parallel current (I) which runs parallel to the current through the two-wire sensor (D), so that there is a sum current at the poles of the power source (U) that always corresponds to the measured value delivered by the two-wire sensor (S). The regulating inputs of the current regulator (SR) are connected to the terminals of a current-sensing resistor (R2) positioned in a connecting line (V1). When a HART®-interface is used with the two-wire sensor (S) a HART®-resistor (RH) is positioned in one of the two connecting lines (V1).Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2002Date of Patent: May 24, 2005Assignee: VEGA Grieshaber KGInventors: Ralf Koernle, Albert Woehrle, Juergen Motzer
