Abstract: A nonwoven fabric composite includes a spunbond nonwoven fabric layer having a plurality of bonded fibers, an air-laid nonwoven pulp web layer having a plurality of pulp fibers and overlying the spunbond nonwoven fabric layer to cooperatively form an inner laminate with the pulp web layer, and a pair of nonwoven carded fiber web layers each having a plurality of carded fibers. The nonwoven carded fiber web layers sandwich the inner laminate therebetween. The bonded fibers, the pulp fibers, and the carded fibers are entangled with one another. A ratio of tensile strength of the nonwoven fabric composite in a machine direction to tensile strength of the nonwoven fabric composite in a cross-machine direction is not greater than 4.

Abstract: A method for making a female member of a hook-and-loop fastener includes the steps of: (a) bonding together a base layer and a surface layer, that is formed from a fiber material and that is superimposed on the base layer, by applying heat to the surface layer so that fibers of the surface layer are curled; and (b) immediately after step (a), subjecting the surface layer to a rapid cooling treatment so as to set the curled fibers of the surface layer.

Abstract: A sanitary article includes an absorbent pad including an upper sheet layer, a lower sheet layer, and a pulp-and-SAP powder layer combination. The powder layer combination is constituted by alternate layers of pulverized pulp and superabsorbent polymer (SAP) powder. A method for making the sanitary article is also disclosed.

Abstract: A non-woven fabric includes a filament fiber web and a composite fiber web that is entangled with the filament fiber web and that includes composite staple fibers and cellulose fibers. The composite staple fibers and the cellulose fibers are fusion-bonded together. A method of fabricating a non-woven fabric includes: (a) air laying and thermally treating composite staple fibers and cellulose fibers so as to form a composite fiber web, the composite staple fibers and the cellulose fibers in the composite fiber web being fusion-bonded together, and (b) disposing the composite fiber web between two filament fiber webs followed by subjecting to water-jet treatment such that the composite fiber web and the filament fiber webs are entangled with each other.

Abstract: There are provided a shaped sheet laminate that is adapted for an absorbent article and that has a specific structure to enhance the absorbing effect of the absorbent article, a method for manufacturing the shaped sheet laminate, and a shaping apparatus adapted to manufacture the shaped sheet laminate. The shaping apparatus includes a first roller having a rolling surface, a plurality of indentations that are indented from the rolling surface, a plurality of annular inner wall surfaces respectively defining the indentations, and a plurality of suction holes that are in air communication the respective indentations. Each of the annular inner wall surfaces has an annular outer edge that meets the rolling surface.

Abstract: A face mask combination includes: an envelope having two interconnected sheet layers that confine a space therebetween, an opening formed in one of the sheet layers, and a closure sheet closing openably the opening and attached adhesively and releasably to the sheet layer formed with the opening; and at least one face mask disposed in the space and having two opposite ends, one of the opposite ends being disposed in proximity to the opening so as to be exposed from the opening when the closure sheet is opened. An automatic packaging method for face masks is also disclosed.

Abstract: A diaper includes first and second sheets having elastic strings, and a crotch section with an absorbent body connected to the first and second sheets. The first sheet includes two first margins, each of which is contiguous to one of first outermost edges, and a first notch that is indented inwardly from one of the first outermost edges to extend inwardly through and beyond the adjacent first margin. The second sheet includes two second outermost edges, two second margins. The second margins are thermal bonded respectively to the first margins to form thermal seams. The first notch forms a first opening contiguous to one of the thermal seams to provide good ventilation and to ease tearing of the diaper at the thermal seam.

Abstract: An absorbent article for absorbing a body fluid from a user includes a liquid-impermeable base layer, a liquid-permeable top layer, an absorbent layer disposed between the liquid-impermeable base layer and the liquid-permeable top layer, and a body fluid-collecting layer disposed between the liquid-permeable top layer and the absorbent layer and having a collecting region. The collecting region is formed with a plurality of indentations that are indented in a direction from the liquid-permeable top layer to the liquid-impermeable base layer and that are distributed densely in the collecting region.

Abstract: A method for making a face mask includes: cutting an elastic sheet to form an ear hanging strap having an opening; forming a cup-shaped mask body; thermal-bonding the cup-shaped mask body to a bonding portion of the ear hanging strap surrounding the opening; and forming two ear hanging holes in the ear hanging strap at two opposite sides of the opening. A face mask made by the above method is also provided.

Abstract: A method for making face masks includes: advancing continuously a longitudinal sheet material that can be divided into a plurality of mask sheets each of which has two opposite longitudinal ends and two opposite transverse ends; cutting the sheet material at intervals to form the mask sheets; providing a plurality of strips each of which has two longitudinally opposite strip ends and each of which is folded to form a pleat between the two strip ends thereof; and bonding the two strip ends of each of the strips to one of the opposite transverse ends of a respective one of the mask sheets to form an ear loop. A structure of the face mask is also disclosed.

Abstract: An individual flexible tubular packaging bag for sanitary products includes a flexible bag body made from a flexible seamless tubular body of a heat-weldable material by heat-sealing two opposite ends of the seamless tubular body. The flexible bag body defines a receiving space that is adapted to receive the sanitary products, and has an access opening in spatial communication with the receiving space. A resealable flap is connected to the flexible bag body, and seals openably the access opening.

Abstract: A sanitary napkin includes a flexible absorbing rod body, an elastic band, and a flap. The absorbing rod body has a longitudinal first side adapted to block a vaginal opening, and a longitudinal second side opposite to the first side. The elastic band is disposed longitudinally at the second side of the absorbing rod body, and applies a contracting force to the second side so that the first side is curved. The flap projects from the second side of the absorbing rod body, and is adapted to facilitate handling of the sanitary napkin.

Abstract: A hemorrhoid pad includes a folded laminated body having a folded end and two opposite folded halves diverging from the folded end. Each of the folded halves of the folded laminated body has inner and outer surfaces. The inner surfaces of the folded halves have a release agent coated thereon and face toward each other.

Abstract: A process for producing a non-woven composite fabric by water-jet entangling. First, at least two webs are formed. These at least two webs include at least one spunbonded web or meltblown web. Then, the at least two webs are consolidated by water-jet entangling into a non-woven composite fabric. Compared to a conventional process using thermal bonding to consolidate webs, since the present invention uses water-jet entangling to consolidate webs, the non-woven composite fabric produced from the present invention has superior softness. In addition, the non-woven composite fabric produced from the present invention can be further processed to produce various non-woven composite fabric products such as disposable diapers, sanitary napkins, panty liners, and artificial leather, all with superior softness.

Abstract: A female fastener is adapted to interlock with a male fastener, and is formed as a laminate that includes a carding fiber web layer, and an air-laid fiber web layer underlying the carding fiber web layer. The carding fiber web layer is composed of composite fibers having a length of at least 1.5 cm. The air-laid fiber web layer is composed of composite fibers having a length of not more than 10 mm. The carding fiber web layer has a connecting surface adapted to interlock with the male fastener. Optionally, the laminate can further include at least one additional carding fiber web layer.

Abstract: The present invention provides a process for producing a carded and air-laid non-woven composite fabric. First, a fiber is subjected to carding treatment through a carding machine to form a carded web. Then, a fiber, powder, or particulate material is subjected to air-laying through an air-laying device to form an air-laid web. The sequence of carding and air-laying steps can be exchanged, and the carding machine and the air-laying device are disposed on the same production line. Finally, the above webs are consolidated into a non-woven composite fabric. In the present invention, since carding and air-laying are conducted on the same production line, the procedure for producing air-laid webs off-line can be omitted. Therefore, the thermoplastic polymer amount added to increase the web strength can be decreased, thus decreasing the production cost.
