Patent number: 6089657Abstract: A seat cushion pad for automobiles, wherein at least a part of the seat surface portion comprises a high-resilience foam. The foam is selected such that a load ratio (3%ISR) between a load at which the thickness is 25% compressed when pressed with a pressure plate having a diameter of 60 mm (25%-strain load) and a load at which the thickness is 3% compressed when pressed with the same pressure plate (3%-strain load) is at least about 6. Alternatively, another ratio (5%ISR) between the load at which the thickness is 25% compressed when pressed with the above dimensioned pressure plate (25%-strain load) and a load at which the thickness is 5% compressed when pressed with the pressure plate (5%-strain load) is selected to be at least about 4. Such design provides comfortable seating and resistance against fatigue even during periods of extended driving, and can be prepared at a low cost with a large degree of design freedom.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 1998Date of Patent: July 18, 2000Assignee: Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masanobu Banno, Tsutomu Nakajima, Hiroaki Ono, Junji Yamamoto

Patent number: 6014414Abstract: A unit of the invention is installed in each of transmission units that make up a synchronous network. The unit selects from the clock references received an active reference that controls the operation of the corresponding transmission unit, based on the quality levels of clock references presented by synchronization messages received with the clock references. The clock references, each of which is selectable as the active reference, and their selection priorities are entered into a source priority list. By referencing the source priority list, the active reference is selected.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1997Date of Patent: January 11, 2000Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Junji Yamamoto, Kazuhiko Hata, Yoshitaka Taki

Patent number: 5955959Abstract: A synchronization message transmitting apparatus employs a synchronization message to synchronize a communication network. If an abnormality occurs in any part of the apparatus or on a clock in the apparatus, the apparatus detects the abnormality and prepares a synchronization message indicating that a frame to be transmitted must not be used for preparing a master clock. An opposite party that receives the frame with the synchronization message will not use the received frame for preparing a master clock.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 1997Date of Patent: September 21, 1999Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Yoshitaka Taki, Kazuhiko Hata, Junji Yamamoto

Patent number: 5810389Abstract: The invention relates to a side air bag device embedded in a seat side which splits open a stitching part 26 of a seat covering material 20 by means of deployment pressure of an air bag 14 and deploys the air bag 14. In this device, a band 28 for concentrating deployment pressure of the air bag 14 on deployment of the air bag 14 is disposed, and a start to the stitching part 26 splitting open is made by means of this band 28. As a result, the stitching part 26 can be split open rapidly. Also, in the device, a seat pad 72 was interposed between an air bag case 16 and the seat covering material 20. As a result, the softness and feeling of the seat feel is not lost.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 1997Date of Patent: September 22, 1998Assignees: Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd., Takashimaya Nippatsu Kogyo Co., Ltd.Inventors: Takeshi Yamaji, Toru Ozaki, Junji Yamamoto, Yoshihisa Nakagawa, Shoei Shinoda

Patent number: 5289893Abstract: The invention is directed to an arrangement for providing an automatic steering control and restraining a steering wheel from being rotated in case of the automatic steering control. A rack is mounted on the vehicle to be laterally movable with respect thereto and linked to a main shaft of a steering wheel. A lateral shaft is disposed to be laterally movable with and with respect to the rack and linked at its opposite ends to steerable wheels of the vehicle. Relative positions of the rack and lateral shaft are adjusted by an adjusting device. An electromagnetic clutch is disposed to restrain at least one of the rack and the main shaft from being moved with a frictional force applied thereto in case of the automatic steering control. Consequently, the steering wheel is not rotated in the automatic steering control, while the steering wheel can be rotated manually against the frictional force.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 1992Date of Patent: March 1, 1994Assignees: Aisin Seiki Kabushiki Kaisha, Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Junji Yamamoto, Yoshinobu Suzuki, Atsushi Takumi, Takashi Omitsu, Noriaki Hattori, Hideki Kusunoki
