  • Publication number: 20080134523
Abstract: A shaving foil for a dry shaver has a plurality of perforation arranged in an array. The shaving foil is formed in its skin contact surface with a plurality of recesses which define a thin section of reduced thickness at the recesses, while leaving thick sections at the remainder of the foil. Each perforation is configured to have its circumference defined partly by the thin section and partly by the thick section. Both of the thin and thick sections can come into contact with a user's skin for smoothly guiding hairs into the perforations to make close shaving without irritating the skin, while the shaving foil is moved across the skin. Especially, the thin sections act to cut the hairs shorter than the thick section, as wall as to raise flattened hairs into the perforations for successfully cutting the flattened hairs.

  • Publication number: 20080134515
Abstract: A dry shaver has an elongated shaving head with a lengthwise axis. The shaving head carries semi-cylindrical first and second outer cutters disposed on its opposite width ends, and a semi-cylindrical finishing cutter and a slit cutter interposed between the first and second outer cutters. The finishing cutter has a finishing foil which is deeply curved than a foil of the first and second outer cutters into an arcuate contour having a width less than that of the first and second outer cutters. The finishing foil disposed behind the first outer cutter comes into contact with a user's skin to make closer shaving than the first and second cutters. A skin guard project between the first outer cutter and the finishing cutter to protect the skin from being pressed excessively to a side of the finishing foil when moving the shaving head across a user' skin with the first outer cutter leading in a moving direction, thereby reducing skin irritation.

  • Publication number: 20080016694
Abstract: An electric shaver includes net-shaped outer blades; and inner blades sliding reciprocally over an inner side of the outer blades as detachably connected with driving units driven by a motor. Each of the inner blades includes a blade plate having an inversed-like-U shape seen from a longitudinal direction in parallel with a reciprocating sliding direction; and a blade holder having attaching portions to be attached to the blade plate in longitudinally defined end regions, wherein connection portions to be detachably connected with the driving units are provided at the blade holder in a longitudinally defined center region, and, when dissembling the blade holder from the driving units, anti-detach portions are provided to thereby prevent separation of the blade holder in the longitudinally defined center region from the blade plate in the longitudinally defined center region due to a tensile load between the connection portions and the driving units.

  • Publication number: 20060162749
Abstract: A cleaning device has a basin that receives an operator head of the hair removing apparatus, a tank storing a volume of a cleaning liquid, and a pump supplying the liquid from the tank to the basin for cleaning the operator head. A drip pan is formed separately from the tank and is disposed underneath the basin for collecting the liquid dripping from the basin as well as contaminants dislodged from the operator head. The drip pan is connected to the tank so as to return the liquid from within the drip pan to the tank under the action of the pump. A filter is provided in the drip pan for removing the contaminants from the liquid so that the filter can be cleaned or replaced without involving the tank and the liquid contained therein.

  • Publication number: 20060021228
Abstract: A dry shaver includes a hand grip and a shaving head supported to the grip. The shaving head carries a foil cutter unit composed of an outer foil and an inner cutter driven to move relative to the outer foil in hair shearing engagement therewith. The outer foil is elongated to have a length and a width, and is arcuately curved along its length. The shaving head is movably supported to the grip so as to be tiltable about a transverse axis parallel to the width of the outer foil. Thus, when the shaving head is pressed against the skin as being inclined, the shaving head is allowed to tilt in a direction of reducing a contact pressure which would otherwise be greater at one longitudinal end than at the other longitudinal end. Therefore, the shaving head can be free from undue dragging at either of the longitudinal ends of the outer foil to be thereby guided smoothly across the skin surface for efficient and comfortable shaving.

  • Patent number: 6669704
Abstract: An epilating device has a rotary cylinder carrying a plurality of pinching row units arranged around the cylinder. An actuator bar is connected to movable blades in each row unit and is caused by a driven mechanism to move the movable blades towards the adjacent blades for pinching body hairs therebetween and plucking the hairs as the cylinder rotates. After the actuator bar is released from the driven mechanism, the bar is urged by a return spring to move the blades away from the adjacent blade to be ready for subsequent hair pinching. All the actuator bars spaced circumferentially around the cylinder and provided respectively for the row units are coupled commonly to the one return spring so that the epilating device can have an increased number of the row units around the cylinder only at a minimum number of the springs.

  • Patent number: 6568083
Abstract: A dry shaver is capable of being depressed equally at different positions but with differing contact pressures between outer and inner cutters. The shaver has a housing having a motor and inner and outer cutters at its upper end. The inner cutter is driven by the motor to move in shearing engagement with the outer cutter for shaving hairs. The inner cutter is urged upwardly by a bias spring to develop a contact pressure against the outer cutter. The outer cutter is carried by a cutter holder movably supported to a head frame mounted on top of the housing. The shaver has a height adjust mechanism for adjusting the height of the head frame relative to the housing between a high position and a low position while compressing the spring differently to vary the contact pressure, and for allowing the cutter holder to be depressed relative to the head frame from each of the height and low positions.
