  • Publication number: 20090092358
Abstract: A light input/output terminal module 100 comprises a jacket tube 110 and a flange 120. A glass portion 20 of the optical fiber is inserted in the center portion thereof. To efficiently remove the leaked light in a cladding 22 to the jacket tube 110, the jacket tube 110 is made of silica glass or the same material as that of the cladding 22. The jacket tube 110 is fixed by fusion splicing or adhesion to the cladding so as to integrally unify the jacket tube 110 and the cladding 22. The beam diameter at the fiber end portion is enlarged by an optical component which fusion bonds the tip end of the optical fiber to the coreless fiber so that the optical power density at the light input/output terminal module is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20090067914
Abstract: A binding device having a binding member that operates at a binding position of objects to be bound has a structure with which the bound objects do not readily come off. The binding device includes a board having a bearing plate. A spring member and an operation lever are attached to a shaft inserted in the bearing plate and a turned-up part. Protruding pieces of a binding member are inserted in through holes of turned-up parts formed in the board. One end of the spring member is secured to the operation lever, and the other end is fitted in a through hole of a turned portion at the distal end of the binding member. By closing the operation lever, the binding member rotates around a line connecting the protruding pieces at both ends, thereby pressing down sheets of paper placed on the board with a pressing portion. At this time, the other end of the spring member presses the turned portion, thereby biasing the pressing portion.

  • Patent number: 6826332
Abstract: At least one of two slab waveguides constituting an arrayed waveguide grating is cut and separated together with a substrate on a cross separating face. A slide moving member is arranged over a waveguide forming area formed on the substrate including the separating slab waveguide and a waveguide forming area formed on the substrate including the separating slab waveguide. Temperature dependence of the center wavelength of the arrayed waveguide grating is reduced by slide-moving the separating slab waveguide by the slide moving member along the cross separating face dependently on temperature. The shift of an initial center wavelength is corrected by plastically deforming the slide moving member so that the initial center wavelength is conformed to a grid wavelength.
