  • Publication number: 20060034285
Abstract: A method for minimizing the loss of data and ensuring that large delays do not occur during reconfigurations of an uplink transmission time interval (TTI) length of a WCDMA High Speed Packet Uplink Access (HSUPA) air interface, wherein the reconfiguration of an uplink TTI length is delayed until all pending retransmissions are successfully transmitted or until the maximum number of transmissions is reached. The transmission of new packets during this time period is prevented. However, pending retransmissions are allowed to occur. After the UE has received an ACK/NACK for each HARQ process, or until the specific maximum number of re-transmissions is reached, the UE starts transmitting with a new uplink TTI length.

  • Publication number: 20050281222
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for defining terminal behavior in a case where the terminal detects that it cannot receive the HS-DSCH from a serving cell reliably when the DCCH is mapped to HS-DSCH (e.g. does not receive any radio link control (RLC) acknowledged mode feedback for the uplink measurement reports or in general the common pilot channel (CPICH) level drops too low in the serving HS-DSCH cell). The terminal is autonomously moved to a cell forward access channel (CELL_FACH) state and uplink signaling is initiated on a random access channel (RACH) to inform a network node and ask for HS-DSCH re-establishment in a suitable cell (preferably in the one being strongest one in the active set or according to the measurements done prior the connection from the serving HS-DSCH cell was lost), or setting up a regular R?99/R?5 DPCH in order to restore the RRC signaling connection in the CELL_DCH state.

  • Publication number: 20050249148
Abstract: A base station (Node B) 12 provides information to a Radio Network Controller (RNC) 16 on how well User Equipment (UE) 14 subject to Node B scheduling is served for an Enhanced Dedicated Uplink Channel (E-DCH). This may be done for instance by the Node B measuring or estimating 22 the requested data rate per UE/cell, and communicating 24 the measured or estimated information to the RNC for enabling the RNC to perform Radio Resource Management (RRM). The RNC is thereby enabled to know the quality of the E-DCH transmission service per UE/cell. In addition to helping Admission Control and Load Control, it also enables the RNC to reconfigure the transport format combination set (TFCS) for E-DCH with more accurate timing. The UE and the Node B exchange information such as rate request/grant or UE Buffer and Transmit Power Status/Scheduling Assignment.

  • Publication number: 20050207359
Abstract: Parameters are defined for use on an interface (lub/lur) between network elements to enable configuration setup of an enhanced radio uplink (UL E-DCH). The basic Information Elements (IEs) are defined to support UL E-DCH functionality in the network on lub/lur. Particular parameters are shown for communication over the lub/lur interface between the RNCs and the Node Bs in order to be able to setup and re-configure the UL E-DCH channel. Flexibility is provided so as not to be restricted to any particular message or information element, but to be applicable to any selected message or messages in a given protocol.

  • Publication number: 20050180449
Abstract: A method, base station, user equipment, radio network controller, and computer program are provided. According to the invention, data packets are communicated from a base station to user equipment over a high speed downlink packet access connection including a high speed physical downlink shared channel for data packet transfer and a high speed dedicated physical control channel for uplink signalling. The high speed physical downlink shared channel is suspended in a plurality of predefined suspension time periods while maintaining the high speed downlink packet access connection in a standby state.

  • Publication number: 20050163056
Abstract: A method and corresponding equipment for communicating from a Node B (10) to a UE device (11) a data rate pointer (11a) value indicating a new maximum allowed data rate in case of a current low value for the data rate pointer (11a), based on predetermined rules governing signaling to change the data rate pointer and used by the Node B (10) in responding to a change request from the UE device (11), rules that differ for different current values of the data rate pointer (11a), and in particular rules that allow for a fast ramp up in case of a current value of zero or less than a threshold.

  • Publication number: 20050048975
Abstract: A method (20) and corresponding equipment for enabling Node B based control during soft handover of the maximum allowed uplink data rate used by a UE device (11), based on the UE device (11) identifying a scheduling cell in an uplink, and the Node Bs (10 10?) receiving the uplink each determining whether it is in control of the scheduling cell and providing commands to affect the maximum allowed uplink data rate only if it is in control. In case of differential scheduling and a change in the scheduling cell to a new scheduling cell under the control of a different one of the Node Bs (10 10?), a synchronization process is carried out so as to set to a same value a pointer (10a?) used by the new scheduler Node B (10?) to indicate the maximum allowed uplink data rate and a corresponding pointer (11a) used by the UE device (11).

  • Patent number: 6353308
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for forming an operating voltage (VCC2) for an electronic device (1) from a supply voltage (VS2) by means (7, 8) for forming the operating voltage. In the method, a minimum value (Vmin) and a maximum value (Vmax) are defined for the operating voltage (VCC2). The means (7, 8) for forming the operating voltage are provided with at least a first operating voltage supply block (7) and a second operating voltage supply block (8). In the first operating voltage supply block (7), the output voltage is limited smaller than said maximum value (Vmax) for the operating voltage. Furthermore, at least a first limit value (V3) is determined, and the supply voltage (VS2) is compared with said first limit value (V3), wherein if the supply voltage (VS2) is greater than said first limit value (V3), the first operating voltage supply block (7) is activated to form the operating voltage (VCC2) from the supply voltage (VS2).
