  • Patent number: 8746191
Abstract: A two-stroke engine has an intake arrangement including a carburetor. An intake channel divides into a mixture channel and an air channel. An intermediate flange is mounted between the carburetor and the cylinder. This flange has a carburetor connecting surface, which faces toward the carburetor, and a cylinder connecting surface which faces toward the cylinder. Referred to the flow direction in the intake channel, the air channel divides upstream of the cylinder connecting surface into two branches. The first branch has a first longitudinal center axis and the second branch has a second longitudinal center axis. The intersect points of the center axes with the connecting surfaces are mutually connected via an imaginary connecting line in the carburetor connecting surface or the cylinder connecting surface. The two connecting lines conjointly define an angle ? in the carburetor connecting surface with this angle being greater than 0°.

  • Publication number: 20140057316
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the production and purification of a sialyltransferase polypeptide, in particular a N-Acetylgalactosamine (Gal NAc)-?-2,6-sialyltransferase I (ST6GalNAcI) polypeptide. The method comprises the steps of producing the sialyltransferase polypeptide in a Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cell and purifying the polypeptide with a combination of chromatography steps. The method results in high yield of sialyltransferase polypeptide which is highly pure and active. The obtained sialyltransferase, especially ST6GalNAcI, can be employed for the glycosylation of therapeutic proteins such as G-CSF.

  • Publication number: 20120276548
Abstract: The technology relates in part to multimer conjugates comprising a scaffold linked to two or more polypeptides that specifically interact with a nucleic acid containing beta-D-glucosyl-hydroxymethylcytosine or beta-D-glucosyl-hydroxymethyluracil. The scaffold can be chosen from an antibody, an antibody fragment, a multimerized binding partner that interacts with a binding partner counterpart in each of the polypeptides, a polymer, and a polyfunctional molecule. The polypeptides can be from a kinetoplastid flagellate organism and may comprise a full-length native or modified protein or a fragment thereof that specifically interacts with the beta-D-glucosyl-hydroxymethylcytosine and/or the beta-D-glucosyl-hydroxymethyluracil in the nucleic acid. The conjugates provided herein can be used to detect the presence, absence or amount of beta-D-glucosyl-hydroxymethylcytosine and/or beta-D-glucosyl-hydroxymethyluracil-containing nucleic acid in a sample.

  • Publication number: 20120185154
Abstract: A handheld work apparatus has a combustion engine with an ignition unit, a unit for supplying fuel and a device to determine the rotational speed (n). The ignition unit includes a spark plug, a coil and a pole group. The pole group and the coil are moved in dependence on the rotational movement of a crankshaft of the combustion engine, whereby a ignition voltage is induced in the coil. The work apparatus has an open loop control which controls the ignition time (ZZP). A diagnostic unit for damage diagnosis is detachably connected to the work apparatus. For damage diagnosis, the diagnostic unit captures the course of the induced ignition voltage over at least one engine cycle when the combustion engine is running and damage is determined on the basis of the course of the captured voltage.

  • Publication number: 20120107919
Abstract: According to the proposed method for producing biomass, the organisms or cells in a suspension kept in circulation in a photobioreactor are cultivated with introduction of light and of at least CO2 as a nutrient. For the cultivation, the suspension is introduced via at least one introduction organ in an upper region of a culturing space and its downward movement is slowed down by at least one inner element that has a horizontally extending grid, screen or net structure and that is disposed in the culturing space. The suspension is converted into a plurality of drops on this structure. The drops pass through a drop cycle, by means of which the downward movement of the suspension is slowed down and a particularly intensive exposure of the organisms or cells contained in the nutrient solution to nutrients and light introduced into the reactor is assured.

  • Publication number: 20110114055
Abstract: A combustion engine (1) has a carburetor (17) for supplying an air/fuel mixture. An intake channel (16) is formed in the carburetor (17) and fuel is drawn into the intake channel because of the underpressure which forms during operation. The fuel quantity, which is drawn into the intake channel (16), is controlled at least in part by an electromagnetic fuel valve (23) which is open when no power is applied thereto. The engine (1) has a device for igniting the air/fuel mixture in the combustion chamber (3) of the engine and a stop switch (74) for switching off the ignition. Furthermore, a control unit (20) and a device (75) for energy supply are provided. A method for operating the engine (1) provides that the fuel valve (23) is held in the closed position by the control unit (20) after the stop switch (74) is actuated.

The mixture-forming unit comprises a fuel store (30), a switchable valve (40) and a fuel channel (20) which opens into an intake region of the engine (10). The valve (40) has an inflow port (41) which is connected to the fuel store (30) and an outflow port (42) which is connected to the fuel channel (20). A fuel column is mechanically moved by the switching of the valve. In order to compensate for this fuel column, the outflow port (42) is connected via a bypass channel (45) to the inflow port (41) and a flow valve (46) is mounted in the bypass channel (45). The flow valve (46) opens in flow direction (48) from the outflow port (42) to the inflow port (41) and blocks in the direction opposite thereto.

  • Patent number: 5685743
Abstract: A connector housing for an air bag connector and a method for contacting an air bag connector. A connector housing having at least two sections is provided with locking elements for a pre-lock-in position and a final lock-in position. In the pre-lock-in position, both sections of the housing are arranged apart from one another and the pre-lock-in position is localized by means of a spacer to maintain the pre-lock-in position maintain at a predetermined distance so that electric conductors can be introduced into the connector housing. The spacer ensures that the connector housing is not inadvertently pressed from the pre-lock-in position to the final lock-in position. The connector housing can be pressed together for an insulation-piercing contact in the connector housing, and locked in the final lock-in position. The connector housing is furthermore provided with a belt arrangement, with the spacer being of a one-piece design with one of the elements of the belt arrangement.
