    Abstract: Disclosed is a film for high heat-sensitive stencil paper, comprising a biaxially oriented film having a thickness of 0.5 to 6.0 .mu.m and formed from a polyester composition comprising polybutylene terephthalate and another polyester,a ratio of the polybutylene terephthalate in the whole polyester being 20 to 80 wt %, a maximum value of average heat shrinkage stresses in the machine and transverse directions of the film measured at a film temperature of 60.degree. to 140.degree. C. being more than 300 g/mm.sup.2, and a heat shrinkage of the film by treatment at 100.degree. C. for 3 minutes being not less than 20%.

    Abstract: In an optical atmospheric communication apparatus for transmitting desired information via an optical beam circulating in the atmosphere, the position of a transmitting object can be easily detected and thus the projecting position of an optical beam can be corrected, even in the case where the optical beam coming from the transmission object cannot be received. The projecting position of the optical beam is displaced within a prescribed range, and the light receiving area of the optical beam reflected at a corner cube reflector is detected in order that the projecting position of the optical beam is corrected based on the centroidal position of the light receiving area.

C. coated with a crosslinked polymer having a glass transition temperature of lower than 100.degree. C., the ratio Dw/Dn of the weight-average particle size (Dw) and the number-average particle size (Dn) being not more than 1.3 is disclosed. The film of the present invention has excellent running property and wear resistance and is useful as a base film for various products such as magnetic recording media, capacitors, photomechanical plates, electric insulators, heat-sensitive transfer film, packaging film, transfer marks and gold and silver threads. Thus, the present invention has a high industrial value.

    Abstract: An apparatus for dewatering primary dewatered sludge pieces conditioned with dewatering powders comprises: a first member having a recess and a path communicating with the recess, a fluid-tight diaphragm mounted over the recess thereby defining a fluid chamber with which the path communicates, a second member having a filtrate member, and a filter member provided over the filtrate chamber. At least one of the first member and the second member is mounted to bring them into fluid-tight contact with each other, and the primary dewatered sludge pieces into a cavity defined by the diaphragm and the filter member. A pressure fluid then is fed to the fluid chamber, thereby isostatically compressing the primary dewatered sludge pieces to remove the water contained therein without substantially destroying the inner structures of the primary dewatered sludge pieces. Because of this isostatic pressure exerted by the diaphragm, the sludge pieces are compressed highly uniformly, resulting in high dewatering efficiency.
