  • Patent number: 9008449
Abstract: An image processing apparatus samples an image signal to thin out pixel values used as adjacent pixels in intra-frame prediction according a size in a horizontal direction of an image to be coded or a size in a vertical direction of regions in a matrix into which the image is divided then performs interpolation using the sampled pixel values to reconstruct the adjacent pixels. A predicted image generation unit within the image processing apparatus performs intra-frame prediction using the reconstructed adjacent pixels and codes the resulting image thus reducing the amount of memory required for intra-frame prediction.

  • Publication number: 20150083309
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses configured to bond elastic laminates together between a rotating drum and anvil. The drum includes a fluid nozzle and a press member. As such, a first elastic laminate and a second elastics laminate may be advanced in a machine direction onto the rotating drum. A fluid is heated to a temperature sufficient to partially melt substrate layers of the first and second elastic laminates. As the drum rotates, the press member shifts radially outward from the drum wherein a length, L, of the pattern surface extends in the cross direction across a plurality of elastic strands of first and/or second elastic laminates. And the partially melted portion of the substrate layers of the first and second elastic laminates and the plurality of elastic strands are then bonded together by being compressed between the pattern surface and the anvil roll.

  • Publication number: 20140086501
Abstract: A filtering operation unit (254) performs a filtering operation by using the image data and the coefficient set of taps constructed with respect to a pixel to be filtered, the pixel to be filtered being of an image generated through a decoding process. A filter control unit (259) determines a tap position in a block. When the tap position is located within a predetermined range from a block boundary, the image data of taps located within the predetermined range is replaced or the coefficient set is changed so that the filtering operation can be performed without the use of image data within the predetermined range. Thus, the memory capacity of the line memory to be used in the loop filtering process can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 8649569
Abstract: In an authentication apparatus, an input section acquires a living body image which an image capture apparatus generates by capturing an image of a living body that is an object of authentication, and outputs the living body image to an operation section. When the operation section acquires the living body image from the input section, the operation section calculates, on the basis of the living body image acquired and a registered image stored in a registered image storage section, the difference between the relative position of the living body with respect to the image capture apparatus at the time of acquiring the living body image and the relative position of the living body with respect to the image capture apparatus at the time of acquiring the registered image. The output section outputs guidance information for prompting a reduction in the difference in the relative position calculated by the operation section.

  • Publication number: 20130296149
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses for rejecting defective absorbent articles from a converting line. At a downstream portion of a converting process, a continuous length of absorbent articles may be subjected to a final knife and cut to create discrete absorbent articles advancing on a first carrier. From the first carrier, the discrete absorbent articles may be transferred to a transfer apparatus, which in turn, transfers the discrete absorbent articles to a second carrier. The transfer apparatus may include carrier members that orbit around an axis of rotation and may be adapted to receive the absorbent articles from the first carrier and transfer the absorbent articles to the second carrier. Defective absorbent articles may be detected by an inspection system, which may be operably connected with the transfer apparatus and/or the first carrier to remove the defective absorbent articles from the converting process.
