  • Publication number: 20060179297
Abstract: A server apparatus is configured to connect client terminal apparatuses through a communication network. The server apparatus receives a signature-attached message having a signature of a different server apparatus connected to the communication network from the different server apparatus, and verifies whether the signature attached to the signature-attached message is valid or invalid. The server apparatus also changes a connection point for the client terminal apparatus to the different server apparatus when the signature verifier verifies that the signature is valid.

  • Publication number: 20060173860
Abstract: A server apparatus according to the present invention receives a time-out period information indicating a time-out period used for judging that a connection with a client terminal apparatus is disconnected, and also receives connection-continuation information indicating that the connection is continued. If the server apparatus cannot receive the connection-continuation information within the time-out period indicated by the time-out period information, the server apparatus judges that the connection is disconnected.

  • Publication number: 20060031531
Abstract: Provided is a client/server system in which clients (terminal appliances) can uniquely determine to which server they are to be connected irrespective of whether a network has a single or plural servers. When connected to the network, a client obtains function information of each server on the network, and sets the server of the highest function, for example, as the server to which the clients are to be connected. A server compares, when a new server is connected to the network, its own function against the function of the server newly connected to the network to determine to which of the servers the clients are to be connected. The result is notified to the clients. Thus, to which server clients are to be connected is uniquely determined in a multi-server/multi-client network configuration.

  • Publication number: 20050197989
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to realize an in-home network system that is capable of smoothly controlling an appliance even when a new kind of appliance that has not been obtained conventionally is connected to an in-home network or even when an unusual, special use form is set in a network. A controller of the present invention compares a device type of an appliance connected to an in-home network with a skeleton stored in a skeleton DB. When a skeleton rule in accordance with the appliance type is not stored in the skeleton DB, a request for acquisition of the skeleton rule of the appliance is transmitted to a service agent. In addition, when the location of an appliance is moved, the controller sends a request for transmission of a new rule format to be added due to the movement to the service agent.

  • Publication number: 20050131991
Abstract: When an appliance is connected to the home network, appliance information is transmitted to a display terminal from the appliance. The display terminal transmits the received appliance information to a management server and requests the management server to transmit appliance icon information of the appliance. The management server extracts icon information conforming to the received appliance information from an icon database and sends the icon information to the display terminal. The display terminal generates an appliance icon image from the acquired icon information and superimposes and displays the appliance icon image on a floor plan image of a house. When a user moves the appliance icon to an installation location on a display screen, a room No. of a moving destination and an installation position in the room are detected. The detected positional information is sent to the management server and registered in association with the appliance.

  • Publication number: 20050044225
Abstract: Provided is a network system which is capable of smooth remote control of appliances in a household while improving the security. A household server for controlling home appliances and an external server for mediating between the household server and a user terminal are set on an Internet. The household server gives a right to access only to the external server that is registered in advance. When accessed by the user terminal, the external server performs user authentication and, if the access is authenticated as from an authorized user, specifies which household server is to be used by the user, and makes an access request to the corresponding server. The household server checks whether the access request is valid or not and, when the access request is found as a result to be valid, allows the user terminal to input a control instruction through the intermediation of the external server.

  • Patent number: 6816666
Abstract: There are described a data recording system, a data recording method, and a recording medium, all of which are directed to enabling easy editing of AV data without involvement of duplication of the AV data, as well as to eliminating a necessity for an additional data recording region. In the recording system, at the time of recording of primary data, there is prepared an original file which stores link data formed by arranging in sequence address data for reproduction purposes stored in a recording region on a recording medium. Further, through editing of the original file, there is prepared a virtual file which stores link data formed by arranging in sequence address data for reproduction purposes stored in the recording region on the recording medium. The data are reproduced according to these files.

  • Publication number: 20040072072
Abstract: The positive electrode active material in accordance with the present invention is used for a positive electrode for a lithium-ion secondary battery, includes Li, Mn, Ni, Co, and O atoms, and has a substantially halite type crystal structure. Specifically, it is preferably expressed by LiaMnbNicCodOe, where a is 0.85 to 1.1, b is 0.2 to 0.6, c is 0.2 to 0.6, d is 0.1 to 0.5, and e is 1 to 2 (the sum of b, c, and d being 1). Because of such composition and crystal structure, the positive electrode active material of the present invention reduces the amount of elution of the battery into the liquid electrolyte and enhances the stability at a high temperature.
