  • Patent number: 9764738
Abstract: A road-condition determining unit determines the condition of a travelling road on which a vehicle is travelling. When a predetermined condition is satisfied, a stopping controller operates a braking mechanism to perform an automatic stop process of stopping the vehicle, and uses a steering mechanism to change the orientation of steered wheels of the vehicle in accordance with the condition of the travelling road which is determined by the road-condition determining unit when the automatic stop process is to end.

  • Publication number: 20170240172
Abstract: A lane change controller determines whether lane change is available or unavailable on the basis of a detection result of an obstacle by a radar and an obstacle recognizer in response to detection of a winker operation by an operation detection unit. A lane keep controller continues lane keep control if the operation detection unit detects the winker operation during the lane keep control and if the lane change controller determines that the lane change is unavailable.

  • Publication number: 20170243491
Abstract: A surrounding information acquisition section and a recognition unit (a surrounding detection unit) detect a first position (a change position) at which the type of a lane mark is switched. A lane change determination unit outputs a determination result whether lane change is available or unavailable on the basis of the type of the lane mark ahead of the first position to a notification mechanism (a notification unit) at a time point at which a vehicle has reached a predetermined range including the first position. The notification mechanism makes notification of the determination result.

  • Publication number: 20170240177
Abstract: A driving assistance system includes a deactivation controller that controls deactivation of Automatic Lane Change (ALC) control and a second driving assistance control (such as lane keeping control). During the ALC control, the deactivation controllet deactivates the ALC central when, for example, a control amount by a driver of a steering wheel or the like has exceeded a first deactivation threshold value. During the second driving assistance control, the deactivation controller deactivates the second driving assistance control when, for example, the control amount has exceeded a second deactivation threshold value. The first deactivation threshold value and the second deactivation threshold value are set to differ from each other.

  • Publication number: 20170151982
Abstract: When an object detected by a lane marking/object detection section has been determined to be an object present in an adjacent lane change target lane or in the vicinity of the adjacent lane, lane change control is performed to reduce a predetermined maximum lateral acceleration Aymax? or maximum lateral velocity Vymax? according to the lane width Lob of the adjacent lane.

  • Publication number: 20170120887
Abstract: An emergency stop system includes a hazard switch that is a momentary switch, an automatic stop controller that performs automatic stop control for causing a vehicle to automatically stop when a predetermined condition is met, and a hazard light controller that controls hazard lights. While automatic stop control is not being performed, the hazard light controller switches the hazard lights between a flashing state and a turned-off state each time a user presses the hazard switch. The hazard light controller brings the hazard lights into the flashing state upon start of the automatic stop control, and turns off the hazard lights (i.e., transitions the hazard lights to the turned-off state) upon depression of the hazard switch while the hazard lights are flashing during execution of the automatic stop control.

  • Publication number: 20170113688
Abstract: An automatic stop controller (including a deceleration setting unit and a deceleration instruction unit) performs automatic stop control of a vehicle by using a first deceleration in response to (i) the detection or estimation of a stop intention by a stop intention detector or (ii) the detection or estimation of an unable-to-drive state of the driver of the vehicle by an unable-to-drive state detector while the vehicle is traveling. The automatic stop controller performs automatic stop control of the vehicle by using a second deceleration larger than the first deceleration in response to (i) the detection or estimation of the stop intention by the stop intention detector and (ii) the detection or estimation of the unable-to-drive state of the driver by the unable-to-drive state detector.

  • Publication number: 20170008528
Abstract: An emergency vehicle control device, when an emergency vehicle stop switch is operated for an operation time threshold value or longer in a state where automatic vehicle stop control is not executed, determines that the automatic vehicle stop control is intended to be executed. Later, when the interval between the previous operation and the current operation of the emergency vehicle stop switch is within an operation interval threshold value, the determination that the automatic vehicle stop control is intended to be executed is sustained, whereas when the interval exceeds the operation interval threshold value and the emergency vehicle stop switch is operated for the operation time threshold value or longer, it is determined that the execution of the automatic vehicle stop control is intended to be cancelled.

  • Publication number: 20170009691
Abstract: An emergency vehicle control device includes an emergency vehicle stop switch that detects or estimates an emergency situation; an accelerator operation detector that detects whether or not an accelerator is being operated; and a cruise controller that executes vehicle speed maintaining control or inter-vehicle distance maintaining control for a preceding vehicle. In the case where an emergency situation is detected or estimated by the emergency vehicle stop switch while a vehicle is running, execution of control by the cruise controller is prohibited, and when an accelerator non-operation state lasting for an accelerator non-operation time threshold value or longer since the prohibition of the control is detected by the accelerator operation detector, the vehicle is automatically stopped.

  • Patent number: 9429941
Abstract: A control apparatus of a vehicle is provided. In the control apparatus, an unable-to-drive state of the driver of the vehicle is detected or determined. The unable-to-drive state is a state where the driver is unable to drive the vehicle. When the emergency that the driver has become the unable-to-drive state is detected or determined, the detection or determination result is notified to the outside. A leading vehicle which is adapted to leading the vehicle based on the notification, is recognized. Automatic follow-up running control is performed wherein the vehicle is made to automatically follow the leading vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9294657
Abstract: A vehicular imaging device is formed by housing a camera, which takes an image of one side and rearwardly of a vehicle body, in an interior of a minor housing of the door mirror. Since an objective lens of the camera is disposed further inside than the outer surface of the mirror housing, it is possible to prevent raindrops or snow flowing from top to bottom along the outer surface of the mirror housing by virtue of gravity or raindrops or snow flowing from front to rear along the outer surface of the mirror housing due to being pushed by air flow from adhering to the objective lens of the camera, thereby enabling the image taking function of the camera to be maintained.

  • Patent number: 9275287
Abstract: An indication control unit 11 indicates a side-rearward image of a vehicle 1 captured by a left-rearward camera 2L and a right-rearward camera 2R mounted on the vehicle 1, after superimposing guidelines showing a guide of a distance from the vehicle 1, to a left-rearward indicator 3L and a right-rearward indicator 3R. A road shape recognizing unit 13 recognizes a shape of a road on which the vehicle is traveling. When it is recognized by the road shape recognizing unit 13 that the vehicle 1 is traveling on the road of a predetermined shape, the indication control unit 11 sets the guidelines to non-display, or sets an indicating position of the guidelines according to the shape of the road recognized by the road shape recognizing unit 13.
