Publication number: 20050095146Abstract: A fuel pump is constructed of a pump casing, a rotating member and a reinforcing member. The pump casing internally forms a pump chamber, in which the rotating member is received, such that the rotating member rotates to pressurize fuel in the pump chamber. The reinforcing member reinforces the pump casing against fluidic force applied to the pump casing. The pump casing is formed of resin. The reinforcing member is insert-formed in the pump casing, so that the reinforcing member is at least partially embedded in the pump casing.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 28, 2004Publication date: May 5, 2005Applicant: DENSO CORPORATIONInventors: Kiyotoshi Oi, Keiichi Yamashita, Takanori Ueda

Publication number: 20040037714Abstract: A fuel supply system has a cover, a pump unit, and metal pipes. The cover and the pump unit are connected through the use of the metal pipes so as to be moved relatively each other. A case cover, covering the pump unit, has supporting portions, each of which has a through hole. Each metal pipe is inserted through the through hole and thereby guided to be moved in its axial direction inside the supporting portion. The supporting portion has a plurality of grooves. Therefore, sliding resistance between the metal pipe and the supporting portion is reduced, that is, the pump unit can be smoothly moved relatively to the cover.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 22, 2003Publication date: February 26, 2004Applicant: DENSO CORPORATIONInventors: Takashi Koba, Keiichi Yamashita, tatsuo Sakai

Patent number: 6523519Abstract: An engine output shaft drives an engine driven pump. The engine driven pump pressurizes oil. An accumulator accumulates the pressurized oil. An electric motor drives a motor driven pump. When the engine rotates low speed, both the engine driven pump and the motor driven pump supply oil to an oil chamber of a belt type continuously variable transmission. If it is required to enlarge a capacity of the oil chamber quickly, the pressurized oil in the accumulator is supplied to the motor driven pump. The motor driven pump further pressurizes the pressurized oil in the accumulator and supplies it into the oil chamber. It is possible to supply a sufficient amount of oil to the continuously variable transmission. Additionally, since the system may be constructed by using a small type engine driven pump, it is possible to improve fuel efficiency.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2002Date of Patent: February 25, 2003Assignee: Denso CorporationInventors: Akira Iwano, Keiichi Yamashita, Tetsuya Abe

Patent number: 6138524Abstract: A fuel level detecting device has a first locking mechanism including a locking member, clamping portions for clamping a mounting surface, and pawl arms which are on a body of the device. A slit and engagement portions are provided on the mounting face of the mounting member, which acts as a second locking mechanism. The thickness of the locking member is equal to or slightly larger than the width of the slit, and the gap between a clamping portion and a contact face is equal to or slightly smaller than the thickness of the mounting face. The body is mounted to the mounting member when the locking member is inserted into the slit. This ensures the fuel detecting device to be mounted without play and disconnection thereof even when vibration occurs.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 1997Date of Patent: October 31, 2000Assignee: Denso CorporationInventors: Shinji Tsuda, Kingo Okada, Keiichi Yamashita, Yoshifumi Terada

Patent number: 5785032Abstract: A cover for a fuel tank opening is molded with insulating resin and a plurality of terminal pins is directly inserted thereinto. A lower housing portion, made of conductive resin and containing a fuel filter element, is weld-connected to the fuel tank side of the cover. A fuel pump is held under the cover. When electricity is supplied to the fuel pump via an electric connector, fuel is discharged from the fuel pump and this discharged fuel is filtered by a fuel filter. Static electricity generated in the fuel filter dissipates through the lower housing portion made of conductive resin. This construction enables suppression of electrostatic voltage generated in the fuel filter. Moreover, a plurality of connector terminals are directly inserted into the upper housing cover portion of the fuel filter housing at the time of molding, which can therefore supply electric power to the fuel pump with a simplified construction.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 1996Date of Patent: July 28, 1998Assignee: Nippondenso Co., Ltd.Inventors: Keiichi Yamashita, Kouji Izutani, Kingo Okada, Hideto Takahashi

Patent number: 5778926Abstract: A compact pressure regulating valve makes installation work simple and has a hermetic structure of a stationary value member without a specific seal member. A pressure regulator (201) has a body (203) which includes a fuel inlet (215) and an inner periphery for positioning a stationary valve member (205) in a radial direction. When the movable valve member (208) leaves the stationary valve member (205), the valve opens. Operation of the movable valve member (208) is controlled by a diaphragm which moves to balance the pressure of the pressure chamber (211) and the pressure of a back pressure chamber (213) combined with a biasing pressure of a compression coil spring (214). As a result, the pressure of the pressure chamber (211) can be controlled without a specific sealing member or complex structure. In addition, a pressure regulating valve according to the present invention is compact and easy to install, and has no specific member to seal the stationary valve member.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 1996Date of Patent: July 14, 1998Assignee: Nippondenso Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masaaki Tanaka, Keiichi Yamashita, Kouji Izutani, Kingo Okada, Hideto Takahashi

Patent number: 4744747Abstract: A controller for a heater has two switch circuits for controlling the supply of electric power to an atomizing glow plug for atomizing fuel and an ignition glow plug for igniting atomized fuel, the glow plugs being connected parallel to each other. One of the switch circuits includes a series-connected resistor for producing a voltage drop thereacross. During an inital period of operation of the heater, the first switch circuit free of the series-connected resistor is turned on to heat the glow plugs quickly up to respective prescribed temperatures for atomizing and igniting the fuel. Upon elapse of a predetermined period of time, during which the prescribed temperatures are reached, the first switch circuit is turned off and the second switch circuit with the series-connected resistor is turned on to keep the glow plugs at the prescribed temperatures without further heating them.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 1986Date of Patent: May 17, 1988Assignee: Isuzu Motors LimitedInventors: Hideo Kawamura, Keiichi Yamashita, Yukio Yoshida
