  • Publication number: 20130022471
Abstract: Methods for repairing a turbine airfoil constructed from a CMC material are provided via filling a cavity located in the turbine airfoil with a ceramic paste (e.g., including a ceramic powder and a binder), heating the ceramic paste in the cavity to remove the binder, thereby forming a porous ceramic material, and adding a molten ceramic material to the porous ceramic material. The cavity can be defined in an airfoil of the turbine airfoil (e.g., on a tip or cap of the airfoil). Intermediates formed during the repair of a turbine airfoil are also provided. The intermediate can generally include an airfoil comprising a CMC material, a cavity defined in the airfoil, and a porous ceramic material filling the cavity.

  • Patent number: 8305475
Abstract: A solid-state image sensor element outputs either n bits or in a bit number of an integral multiple of n in synchronization with an output clock. An allocating unit allocates respective bit data of pixel signals obtained by the solid-state image sensor element into at least two series of bit data alternately, in synchronization with a clock converted by a clock converting unit. A first selector selects an output from the bit data allocated by the allocating unit and the bit data not allocated by the allocating unit. A second selector selects an output from a clock with a frequency converted by the clock converting unit and a clock with a frequency not converted by the clock converting unit.

  • Patent number: 7659966
Abstract: An exposure apparatus for performing exposure of a substrate to light via a reticle. The apparatus includes a first stage configured to hold a chuck. The chuck has a support base with an electrode, and forms a container, for one of the substrate and the reticle, together with a cover. The container electrostatically chucks the one on the support base by the electrode. A transporter transports the container in which the one is contained, and loads the chuck, which chucks the one, on the first stage without the cover. A second stage holds the other of the substrate and the reticle. The apparatus obtains a first positional shift amount between the chuck and the one chucked on the chuck before the transportation by the transporter, to measure a second positional shift amount between a reference mark on the chuck held by the first stage and a reference mark on the second stage, and corrects positions of the first and second stages based on the first and second positional shift amounts, to perform the exposure.

  • Patent number: 7535457
Abstract: In a force-feedback input device, when the cursor moves on a line parallel to a line between a center of a first button and a center of a second button, an area is determined between a first position, which corresponds to the center of the first button, and a second position, which corresponds to the center of the second button, such that the area extends a distance W on both sides of a mid-point between the first and second positions. In this area, the first and second external-force generation portions are controlled so that a scalar value |F| of an attractive force exerted on an operating portion is decreased according to the equation |F|=d/W·|F| as the cursor moves closer to the mid-point, where d is a distance between the cursor and the mid-point.

  • Patent number: 7490530
Abstract: A haptic feedback input device includes a pair of driving levers journaled at a frame such that rotary shafts thereof are perpendicular to each other, an operating lever coupled to an intersection of the two driving levers such that it can rock, and a pair of rotary motors that apply feedback force to the operating lever via the two driving levers. In the haptic feedback input device, a pair of rotary encoders detect the relative dislocation amount of the operating level, and an absolute position detecting unit is composed of swing arms fixed to the two driving levers and photo interrupters that detect the existence of blocking portions formed at the swing arms and that output ON/OFF signals. A control unit calculates a reference position of the operating lever based on ON/OFF switching signals of the photo interrupters.

  • Patent number: 7477302
Abstract: A solid-state image pickup apparatus and an image pickup method are disclosed which can detect and correct fixed pattern noise efficiently and accurately. Pickup image signals produced by reading out signals in parallel from a pixel sensor section are subject to an analog gain process, an A/D conversion process and a digital gain process. Within a period within which the pickup image signals which are based on a fixed value are inputted within a one-frame period, a reference signal average is produced from the signals. Sum values of difference values of the signals from the reference signal average are stored. Within a period within which the pickup image signals from valid pixels are inputted within the one-frame period, fixed pattern noise is removed from the pickup image signals using division averages obtained by dividing the stored sum values.
