  • Publication number: 20050233753
Abstract: When a cell load becomes higher than a call setup threshold value for a first channel (CS channel), a second channel (PS channel) is changed into a channel having a low transmission rate. Consequently, the cell load is reduced and no cell loss occurs in the first channel. Therefore, the call loss rate of a first communication service is lowered. Simultaneously, a handover threshold value is higher than the call setup threshold value for the first channel so that a failure rate of handover is lowered.

  • Publication number: 20040066774
Abstract: In a mobile communication system, when a connection necessary to provide a service supporting high-speed data communication referred to as an MBMS is configured on an Iu interface, contention with the other packet communication service is eliminated. As a logical connection established between an SGSN and a Radio Network Controller in a Core Network 10, a PS (packet switching processing) functional connection for an existing packet communication service and a connection for a new MBMS service offering high-speed data communication are provided separately and independently from each other. This eliminates the contention between different types of services of the PS service and the MBMS service to thereby enable executing processings of such different types of services without being conscious of mutual processings. In addition, release processing of the connection may be executed independently to each service, thereby eliminating processing complexity in the SGSN.

  • Patent number: 6714532
Abstract: A network connecting device 100 comprises a LAN I/F 130 for performing communications with a LAN, a N-ISDN I/F 170 for performing a connectionless transmission, and a ATM I/F 160 for performing a connection-oriented transmission. A plurality of networks having different transfer systems are separately used, and communication channels are switched as occasion demands. A connection table section 200 holds correspondence among individual communication channels. A channel setting control program section 500 allocates a communication channel for new communication data. A kicking-out program section 1300 makes a communication channel used for low-priority communication data available for high-priority communication data. • Patent number: 6485862
Abstract: A battery body, which is composed of a laminated body obtained by laminating a cathode and an anode via a separator or a wound body obtained by winding them in a laminated structure and a plurality of leads connected to the cathode and the anode, is contained in a flexible package, and after an electrolyte solution is injected thereinto, an opening of the package is sealed at pressure which is lower than atmospheric pressure and is reduced to not less than vapor pressure of the electrolyte solution so that a thin battery is fabricated. A rise in pressure in the battery due to generation of gas in the battery and volume expansion of the gas can be restrained when the battery is maintained at high temperature.

  • Patent number: 6422081
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for measuring a speed of an ultrasonic: wave propagated in a sample, even if there are bubbles in a sample. And it presupposes an ultrasonic speed measuring method for seeking a sonic speed in a sample in accordance with the propagation time of an ultrasonic wave propagated between an ultrasonic transmitter and an ultrasonic receiver by transmitting the ultrasonic wave from the ultrasonic transmitter. The apparatus of this invention is arranged that continuous oscillating waves are oscillated synchronizing the phase only with the receipt timing of at least one of receiving waves received by the ultrasonic receiver at every transmitting waves, and according to the continuous oscillating waves it is possible to measure the period of pulses oscillated by the local oscillator for determining the transmit timing.

  • Patent number: 6402064
Abstract: Granular substances with pollutants adhered, such as contaminated soils and incinerated ashes, are finely granulated to separate the pollutants from the granular substances efficiently and to enable the granular substances, from which pollutants have been separated, to be recycled. After fine granulation of the granular substances by a coarse disintegrating treatment through a first fine granulation machine, the granular substances, which have been finely granulated by the first fine granulation machine, are subjected to, by a second fine granulation machine, mutual polishing among the granular substances by mutual rubbing forces of the substances themselves and thus the pollutants, such as heavy metals and dioxin class substances adhering strongly to the surfaces of the granular substances, are separated, and also the granular substances not containing the pollutants are classified from the granular substances which have already been finely granulated by a vibrational screen and a classification device.

  • Publication number: 20020057335
Abstract: Out of viewers of the same content, multi-user talking service is provided to only viewers who wish to enjoy the content in a large number of people. Only when an address of a terminal 4, 5 that has transmitted a request for participation in multi-user talking is registered in a viewer management DB (which manages viewers of contents), a content distribution/multi-user talking service center 1 registers the above-mentioned address into a participant management DB (which manages participants in multi-user talking) associating the address with identification information of a content that is registered in association with the address in question in the viewer management DB. Then, for each content, respective pieces of talking data received from addresses registered in association with identification information of said content in the participant management DB are synthesized to generate multi-user talking data, and generated multi-user talking data is transmitted to each of said addresses.

  • Patent number: 6334356
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for deciding an amount of correction factor for the viscosity of a fluid test sample needed for correcting a calculation or measurement of the density based on the viscosity. The method for deciding the viscosity of the fluid test sample, during a density measurement performed by an oscillating densitometer where there is a peak point on the viscosity-attenuation constant characteristic of the test sample at the specific order oscillation, is to decide whether the attenuation constant of the viscosity-attenuation constant characteristic of the test sample at the other specific order oscillation is larger or smaller than that corresponding to the peak point, to decide according to said decision whether the viscosity detected by the attenuation constant obtained at the specific order oscillation belongs to either side larger or smaller than the peak point, and then to decide upon and determine the viscosity of the test sample according to the above two decisions.

  • Patent number: 5828192
Abstract: A power feed system for feeding power to an electric vehicle includes a motor driving circuit provided with a smoothing capacitor. The motor driving circuit is capable of preventing the smoothing capacitor from being discharged and has a comparatively short main current supply line to reduce unnecessary power loss. The motor driving circuit converts dc supply power into ac supply power to feed the ac supply power to a motor. The motor driving circuit includes the smoothing capacitor and a plurality of semiconductor switching devices, which are built in the motor. An electromagnetic relay is placed within a case housing the motor driving circuit and the electromagnetic relay is controlled to supply a main current to the motor driving circuit and to interrupt the supply of the main current to the motor driving circuit.

  • Patent number: 5793189
Abstract: To provide an electric vehicle in which a low voltage power, obtained by conversion from a high voltage power of a main battery by a DC--DC convertor, is supplied to an operation control unit and electric equipment loads such as a lamp and is also used to charge a low voltage secondary battery, in which the main battery and the low voltage secondary battery are prevented from being over-discharged even when a main switch is left in the on-state. A low voltage power VR outputted from a DC--DC convertor is supplied to an exciting winding of a relay and is also supplied to a low voltage secondary battery through a diode. The low voltage power VR is supplied to low voltage loads through a contact of the relay. The DC--DC convertor is so constructed that the output of the low voltage power therefrom is stopped when the output voltage of the DC--DC convertor is reduced to a value less than a specified range due to the reduction in the battery capacity of the main battery.
