  • Patent number: 9649569
Abstract: Examples of a wave simulator for board sports and other uses are disclosed. An example wave simulator includes means for forming a wave, the means having at least one inclined side wall and a bottom corresponding to a desired wave shape. The wave simulator includes means for flowing water along at least partially along the inclined side wall and bottom of the flume to form a simulated wave. The wave simulator includes means for restraining a board rider in the means for forming a wave. Streamlines of the simulated wave are substantially parallel to a crest line of the simulated wave, and an inclined water flow ends in a downward arc.

  • Patent number: 9500284
Abstract: A gate valve is provided with a flapper mechanism that is disposed in the main body of the valve and automatically works to seal and isolate the main body of the valve from a bonnet. The bonnet is isolated without any manual function or operation. When the flapper valve is in a closed position, the bonnet, gate and gate actuating mechanism can be removed from the gate valve body without isolating the gate valve. This enables the bonnet and associated components to be repaired or replaced while water or fluid under pressure continues to flow through the main body of the gate valve.

  • Publication number: 20160220323
Abstract: A method of selecting an instrument set for an orthopedic implant procedure. The method utilizes a computer programmed with a data structure configured to store (i) a set of implant components and implant instruments; and (ii) a set of surgical instruments utilized in performing the procedure. The method selects a sub-set of implant components and implant instruments based upon a determination of component types and then selects a sub-set of surgical instruments based upon a determination of surgical techniques. The method arranges the sub-set of surgical instruments and implant instruments into a substantially specific order based upon a determination of a sequence of bone cuts to be performed in the procedure.

  • Patent number: 9338128
Abstract: Methods, computer systems, and computer readable media provide for automated control of the status of network address space. Blocks of networking address space assigned to a network may be allocated from a free status to a new status based upon a request to allocate a particular size block. Blocks of networking address space assigned to a network that have been allocated to a new status may be deallocated to return to a free status based upon a request to deallocate the chosen block. Blocks of networking address space assigned to a network that have been allocated and otherwise manipulated such as through a lend from another network may be reclaimed for the original network upon a request to reclaim the chosen block.

  • Publication number: 20150360354
Abstract: A drive mechanism for installing thread protectors on threaded pipe ends having a servo motor, a housing, a shaft assembly, and a gripper with a plurality of jaws. The shaft assembly has a hollow shaft, rotationally mounted within the housing, and a solid shaft slidably mounted within the hollow shaft. The hollow shaft and solid shaft are coaxial and rotationally coupled. The gripper is mounted on the end of the solid shaft, outside of the housing, and is biased away from the housing. A sensor monitors the relative axial motion between the solid shaft and the hollow shaft.

  • Patent number: 9037722
Abstract: Disclosed herein are techniques for provisioning computing services. In some implementations, a plurality of computing resources available within a computing environment are identified. The plurality of computing resources may be capable of being used to provide computing services via the computing environment. Each of the computing resources may comprise a respective unit of computing functionality available within the computing environment. A plurality of dependency relationships among the computing resources may be identified. Based on the identified dependency relationships, a first one or more of the computing resources may be selected for inclusion in a license definition. A license conforming to the license definition may provide an entity with access to the computing functionality associated with the first one or more computing resources.
