  • Publication number: 20100072666
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for forming mouldable bodies (57) from a mouldable mass by means of a matrix grid (19), in which at least one cavity (21) is formed by lateral limiting elements (20), and at least one tool (17, 18) which compresses the mouldable mass into the cavity (21). The inventive device is characterised by a compression partition (38) that can be displaced on the matrix grid (19) for portioning the mouldable mass. Said compression partition (38) comprises lateral limiting elements (39) that correspond to the lateral limiting elements (20) of the matrix grid (19). The invention also relates to a method for forming mouldable bodies (57) consisting of forming a mouldable mass and guiding it to a matrix grid (19) such that it rests on the front face (45) of the lateral limiting elements (20) of the matrix grid (19).

  • Publication number: 20100065572
Abstract: Known tank flanges have a main filter which has a filter housing with an inlet and an outlet, and a first connecting duct for connecting the main filter to a feed unit. The filter housing is integrated in the tank flange, and filter fabric is inserted into the filter housing and the filter housing is closed off by a filter cover. The inlet of the filter housing is connected to the pressure side of a feed unit and the outlet leads to an internal combustion engine. A disadvantage is that, in order to exchange the filter fabric, the large-area filter cover must be opened, as a result of which a large amount of fuel vapor is dissipated to the atmosphere. In the case of the tank flange according to the invention, the exchangeability of the main filter is simplified by virtue of the main filter being embodied as a filter cartridge. It is provided according to the invention that the inlet of the main filter extends into the first connecting duct of the tank flange and therein forms a sealed connection.

  • Publication number: 20100032436
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor vehicle fuel tank (1) of thermoplastics having at least one filler neck (4) not moulded on in one piece, the latter being connected in a fluid-tight manner to the fuel tank (4), wherein the filler neck (5) is inserted into an opening (5) in the fuel tank (1) and is sealed by sealing means (11) at its outer circumference relative to the fuel tank (1) in the opening (5). The filler neck (4) is clamped axially against the tank wall (2), with the seal acting radially.

  • Publication number: 20090308865
Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel container of plastics material with functional components arranged inside the container which are fastened to the container wall and at least some of which are connected to electric or hydraulic lines and/or are interconnected via such lines. The invention further relates to a method for maintenance of such a fuel container. The functional components are provided with fastening means for receiving a functionally identical functional component. In the event of maintenance, the fuel container is opened. An exchange component is fastened to the functional component to be serviced, the functional component to be serviced serving as a mounting for the exchange component. The lines connected to the functional component are plugged into the other functional component and the container is closed again while the component to be serviced remains in the fuel container.

  • Publication number: 20090206097
Abstract: The invention relates to a thermoplastic fuel tank (1) for motor vehicles, with at least on stiffening element within the fuel tank (1), wherein the stiffening element extends between two opposite tank walls (4) in such a manner that it counteracts deformation caused by internal pressure of the fuel tank (1). According to the invention, two ends of the stiffening element arranged within the fuel tank (1) engage behind the tank wall (4) from the outside.

  • Publication number: 20080006625
Abstract: The invention concerns a process for the production of an article enclosing built-in fitment components in the form of a hollow body of thermoplastic material. The hollow body is preferably in the form of a fuel tank. The process includes the extrusion of one or more preforms in web or tube form of plasticized material between the opened portions of a mold tool forming a cavity, wherein at least one built-in fitment component to be enclosed by the finished article is placed between the portions of the mold tool and the tool is closed around the preforms and the built-in fitment component, wherein the preforms within the cavity enclosed by the tool acquire the external configuration of the article. The built-in fitment component is pressed during or directly after the shaping operation against the inside wall of the article while still plastic so that the plastic material of the hollow body penetrates through at least one recess or opening of the built-in fitment component and flows therebehind.

  • Patent number: 6425187
Abstract: A locating device for vehicles with a carrier to be mounted in the vehicle in which a gyro-sensor is located to detect the movement of moving components for the purpose of determining the location. As gyro-sensors must be oriented a certain way in order to fulfill their function, and as this orientation is not possible in all installation locations, the invention is the result of the task of specifying a gyro-sensor that can be used regardless of the corresponding mounting situation, where the corresponding sensor (gyro-sensor) can be oriented at the installation location and manufactured using automated manufacturing processes and where special securing devices are not required to secure the unit in the aligned position.
