  • Patent number: 11718870
Abstract: Molecules may be analyzed (e.g., sequencing of nucleic acid molecules) by tunneling recognition at a tunneling junction. Embodiments of the present invention may allow detecting individual nucleotides and the sequencing of a nucleic acid molecule using a tunneling junction. By labeling a specific nucleotide with a moiety, tunneling junctions may generate a signal with a suitable signal-to-noise ratio. The tunneling recognition uses a tunneling current that is mostly through the moiety rather than mostly through the nucleotide or a portion of the molecule of interest. Because a single nucleotide can be detected with a signal with a suitable signal-to-noise ratio resulting from the tunneling current passing through the moiety, embodiments of the present invention may allow for fast detection of nucleotides using a tunneling current.

  • Patent number: 11656043
Abstract: A weapon system that includes a breechblock, which is formed at least by a breechblock carrier and a breechblock head, the breechblock carrier being designed so as to carry the breechblock head. To achieve the fact that forces acting upon the breechblock drive during the unlocking of the breechblock and the withdrawal of a cartridge casing are minimized or even eliminated, the breechblock head is freely movable relative to the breechblock carrier. To separate the breechblock with a breechblock drive of the weapon system during the recoil of the recoiling masses of the weapon system, a device is designed in such a way that a mechanical separation takes place between the breechblock and the breechblock drive during the recoil of the recoiling masses of the weapon system. During the forward motion of the recoiling masses, the mechanical connection between the breechblock drive and the breechblock is reestablished via the device.

  • Publication number: 20230111366
Abstract: A three-plate die casting mold for producing a metal die-cast part by die casting a molten metal includes a first, second, and third mold part, where the third mold part is disposed between the first and second mold parts. Molten metal is feedable to a die cavity through a sprue system where the sprue system has a plurality of feed channels that are disposed in the third mold part and open into the die cavity. The plurality of feed channels have a respective tapering at a die cavity-side end where the respective tapering locally decreases a channel cross section such that a predetermined breaking point is generated during a die casting operation which allows a defined separation of the metal die-cast part from a sprue created in the sprue system when the three-plate die casting mold is being opened.

  • Publication number: 20230091244
Abstract: A hydrogen fuel tank mounting system for a vehicle comprises a first mount for mounting a first portion of the fuel tank in a fixed position and a second mount for slidably mounting a second portion of the fuel tank. In this manner, the mounting system reduces stress on fuel system components when accommodating expansion and contraction of the hydrogen fuel tank, improving durability. The fuel tank may be a dual port fuel tank, and the first and second portions may be elongated neck portions. The fixed mount may be a bracket formed in two portions with a clearance between them. A sleeve may extend through at least part of the portions of the brackets to distribute shear forces away from an interface between those portions. The provision of a slidable mounting also allows pre-assembly of the fuel tank and mounts, facilitating installation of the hydrogen fuel system.

  • Patent number: 11604449
Abstract: An apparatus for monitoring an actuator system, a method for providing an apparatus for monitoring an actuator system, and a method for monitoring an actuator system where the has at least one actuator and at least one data output signal. An anomaly detector detects anomalies. A suppressing engine determines time periods in which a control intervention has been performed. In a resulting monitoring signal, only anomalies are indicated which do not overlap with time periods in which the control intervention has been performed resulting in less irrelevant alerts and false positives output to a human supervisor monitoring the actuator system. The apparatus for monitoring a system may be provided with a plurality of actuators that may affect one another over time. The apparatus may be applied to a system of submersible pumps, or a system of conveyor belts.

  • Patent number: 11603004
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for setting at least one communication parameter of a communication module (28) of a charging station (10), used for communication, in particular wired communication, via an interface (18) of the charging station (10). The invention addresses the problem of enabling the at least one communication parameter to be set in the simplest manner possible, with significant reliability and great security. It is proposed according to the invention that: —a calibration device (56) is coupled to the interface (18), —authentication data is transmitted from the calibration device (56) to the communication module (28), —a value for the at least one communication parameter is transmitted from the calibration device (56) to the communication module (28), and—the at least one communication parameter is set by the communication module (28) depending on an evaluation of the authentication data by the communication module (28) according to the value transmitted.

  • Patent number: 11568766
Abstract: A fiber Bragg grating (FBG) security component for single-party and multi-party monitoring is provided. The security component includes an optical fiber having a plurality of Bragg gratings. The Bragg gratings provide a spectral response that is randomized based on the manufacture of the security component. For single-party use, the spectral response provides a reproducible spectral signature when interrogated with an optical signal. For multi-party use, each party applies a known optical interrogation signal to the security component and applies an external stress known only to the respective monitoring party. The resulting shift in the spectral signature is unique to each monitoring party, making it extremely difficult to successfully counterfeit the security component's response for all such parties.
