  • Publication number: 20040261744
Abstract: A decompression device is provided for an internal combustion engine having a cylinder head provided with a pair of left and right camshaft bearings sandwiching intake valves and exhaust valves with a structure that is both simple and small. A camshaft is provided having cam projections for at least a pair of intake cams between camshaft side bearings corresponding to the pair of left and right bearings, and a decompression member with a decompression cam with a centrifugal weight arranged at a camshaft end passing through the bearing close to the camshaft end so that a tip thereof is arranged in the vicinity of the cam projections, with the decompression member comprising the centrifugal weight, the decompression cam, and a rotatable shaft coupling the centrifugal weight and the decompression cam in an integral manner.

  • Publication number: 20040103871
Abstract: A cylinder block, a cylinder head and a cylinder head cover are stacked in order to form a four-cycle engine. A valve train of a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) type provided with an intake valve and an exhaust valve is provided in the cylinder head. A line extending parallel with a joint between the cylinder head and the cylinder head cover is inclined forward and downward toward a line parallel with a joint between the cylinder block and the cylinder head. An axis of an exhaust valve and/or an axis of a plug tube is/are perpendicular to the line extending parallel with the joint between the cylinder head and the cylinder head cover. A cylinder head hanger is integrally formed at an uppermost end of a rear portion of the cylinder head over an intake port.

  • Publication number: 20030141036
Abstract: The present invention provides a manufacturing method for a continuously cast product of steel comprising the steps of: detecting a position of crater end of product by a method for measuring a solidification state of continuously cast product using a sensor arranged so as to be in non-contact with the product; and controlling at least one condition selected from the conditions of the casting speed and the quantity of secondary cooling water based on the detected position of crater end, the method for measuring a solidification state of continuously cast product comprising the steps of: cooling the product until a surface layer portion thereof is &agr; transformed; transmitting transverse waves of electromagnetic ultrasonic waves to the cooled product; receiving the signal after the transmitting signal propagates in the product; and judging the solidification state of the product based on the received signal.

  • Publication number: 20030024683
Abstract: In a display device comprising a cooling suction fan and an air filter arranged on the suction side of the cooling suction fan, there are provided first means for measuring the value of a current flowing through a power supply line to the cooling suction fan for each predetermined time period, and second means for judging that the air filter is clogged when the measured current value is not more than a predetermined reference value, to inform the user that the air filter is clogged.

  • Patent number: 6435151
Abstract: A projection is formed on the outer circumference of an annular member and a stopping member is attached to a cylinder head supporting a camshaft thereon. A side surface of the projection comes into contact with a side surface of the stopping member to restrain a decompression cam from turning when the camshaft rotates in the normal direction. The stopping member does not apply any pressure to the annular member in a radial direction and the annular member does not exert any force on the camshaft. Consequently, frictional resistance against the rotation of the camshaft can be reduced and a loss in the output of the engine can be suppressed.

  • Patent number: 5171458
Abstract: This invention provides a hot forming mold made of xonotlite group materials such as xonotlite, or wollastonite made therefrom which are known as a heat-resisting materials. By hot pressing these materials to high bulk density e.g., 0.6 to 2.20, a mold suitable for use in hot forming, having increased bending strength and hardness can be efficiently made. Such molds are made by filter pressing an aqueous slurry of xonotlite, then drying the pressed product to remove moisture at a temperature less than about 700.degree. C., and then cutting out the mold for use in molding plastic, glass and the like. By heat treating this mold product at a temperature of about 700.degree. to 1200.degree. C. the mold so produced can be subjected to machining and can be used as a mold for superplastic forming aluminum, titanium and the like.
