Publication number: 20070151332Abstract: An angular velocity detector using a vibrator made of an annular thin film. The detector also has electrodes arranged ingeniously to have high detection sensitivity for angular velocities. The detector can detect angular velocities in two axial directions simultaneously. The detector has support portions (1105), (1106) which are formed over a first substrate (1123) and poised above the surface of the first substrate (1100) at a certain spacing therefrom. Resilient support bodies are supported to the support portions and include outer springs (1102) and inner springs (1103). A vibrator (1101) is mounted via the resilient support. An exciting means consisting of a magnet (1124) and an exciting electrode (1108) excites the vibrator to vibrate in a certain direction of vibrations.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 20, 2004Publication date: July 5, 2007Inventors: Masaya Nagata, Hiroshi Nishitake, Koji Fukumoto, Kazuhiro Matsuhisa, Atsuhito Yasui

Publication number: 20040021987Abstract: Disclosed herein is a flying head slider having an air bearing surface forming portion opposed to a recording medium and adapted to receive a buoyancy produced by air bearing due to a dynamic pressure between the air bearing surface forming portion and a recording surface of the recording medium. The flying head slider includes a head for recording and/or reproducing information, a head mounting portion formed on the air bearing surface forming portion for mounting the head, and a projection of diamond-like carbon provided on the head mounting portion at the upstream side of air flow, which is along the slider, on said head. By providing the projection at the upstream side of air flow on the head, the penetration and deposition of any disturbance such as lubricant and dust to the head can be minimized to thereby prevent damage to the head. Accordingly, the operation reliability of the slider can be improved.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 25, 2003Publication date: February 5, 2004Applicant: Sony CorporationInventors: Michio Yotsuya, Toshio Mamiya, Kazushige Kawazoe, Koji Fukumoto, Kazuyuki Yamamoto

Patent number: 6576910Abstract: An object is to provide a sample holder and a sample mount which allow observation of a sample from many directions in an electron microscope. A sample holder (10) is made for use in a transmission electron microscope (TEM). In the TEM, an electron beam is incident in the Z direction. A sample mount (17) and a sample (SA) affixed on it can be rotated by a motor (12) in the range of 0 to 360° on an axis extending in the Y direction which differs from the direction of the electron beam incidence. Therefore the electron beam can enter the observed sample (SA) from many directions, thus allowing observation of the sample (SA) from many directions. It is also possible to FIB-process the sample (SA) in many directions without removing the sample (SA) from the sample holder (10), which facilitates the handling in the FIB processing.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2001Date of Patent: June 10, 2003Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Naoto Hashikawa, Koji Fukumoto
