The method includes receiving, by a reception unit, related information relevant to a common broadcast service being provided in common in at least two Internet Protocol (IP) platforms, from one of the at least two IP platforms; determining, by a mobility management block, whether a currently received broadcast service is the common broadcast service, based on the related information; and continuously receiving the common broadcast service from a remaining IP platform, except for the one of the at least two IP platforms, when the currently received broadcast service is the common broadcast service.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for providing a multimedia broadcast/multicast service (MBMS) to a user equipment (UE) by a base station in a mobile communication system. The method includes transmitting, to the UE, a first message including information about a scheduling period and an offset indicating a start point of the scheduling period; transmitting, to the UE, a second message including information about at least one MBMS in the scheduling period, based on the information about the scheduling period and the offset; and transmitting, to the UE, data of the at least one MBMS via an MBMS radio bearer (RB) established for the at least one MBMS. The information about the at least one MBMS includes identification of the at least one MBMS.

In a network supporting a user interface, encryption-unneeded data is distinguished from data in which security identifier is specified, that indicates a need for security between a server and a communication device, and the distinguished data is transmitted over a security channel and a general channel separately.

Abstract: A broadcasting system for providing access information of a broadcast service, wherein a transmission apparatus generates the access information for at least one of a broadcast network and an interaction network, from which the broadcast service is transmitted, and transmits the access information to a terminal via a specific communication network. A reception apparatus receives the access information of the broadcast service via the communication network, analyzes the received access information to determine a network from which the broadcast service is provided, among the broadcast network and the interaction network, and sets an access address for reception of the broadcast service.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for transferring user information between different terminals are disclosed. The method includes saving by a first terminal, when a change is made to user information during playback of content, the changed user information in a scene history, performing a terminal change from the first terminal to a second terminal, and resuming, by the second terminal, playback of the content from a continued scene after the last scene played back by the first terminal. Consequently, in a terminal change, the user may use the second terminal to play back the same content from the continued scene using the same content usage environment as the first terminal.

Abstract: A multimedia middleware apparatus using metadata, a control method and a storage medium are provided which can receive metadata in multimedia middleware provided in a terminal, easily add/delete/change a service, and effectively maintain and manage middleware components. When an open multimedia terminal processes multimedia contents, a multimedia middleware service structure for expressing information of a name, configuration, version and application programming interface (API) update is configured in the form of metadata. Lists of standard and non-standard services of multimedia middleware are then generated and managed.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting/receiving encryption information in a mobile broadcast system providing broadcast service (BCAST) are disclosed. In the mobile broadcast system, a broadcast (BCAST) Service Distribution/Adaptation (BSD/A) unit comprises a transmitter for transmitting a Registration Key Material (RKM) request message for requesting delivery of an RKM for registration of the BCAST service of a terminal to a BCAST Subscription Management (BSM) unit managing subscriber information of the terminal, and a receiver for receiving an RKM request response message from the BSM unit. The RKM request message includes an identifier (ID) of the BCAST service, and the RKM request response message includes the ID of the BCAST service and the RKM. The transmitter transmits a Long-Term Key Message (LTKM) request message for requesting delivery of an LTKM provided to the terminal during subscription of the BCAST service to the BSM unit.

Abstract: A control message transmitting/receiving method in an MBMS-supporting mobile communication system. In the present invention, an RNC periodically transmits control messages related to MBMS RB setup to UEs. Thus, although a UE initially fails to receive an intended MBMS service, it can set up an MBMS RB by receiving a related retransmitted control message. Also, the RNC periodically provides information about ongoing MBMS services on a cell basis so that a UE can decide whether its requested MBMS service is in progress and request information required to set up an MBMS RB for the MBMS service to the RNC by individual signaling.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for updating firmware of terminals in a mobile broadcast system including a Broadcast Service Distribution/Adaptation fragment (BSDA) and a Broadcast service Subscription Management (BSM). The method includes requesting creation of a content fragment, by the BSM, by transmitting a firmware package file for a firmware update of the terminals to the BSDA; creating a content fragment including the firmware package file and broadcasting the created content fragment to the terminals by the BSDA; detecting the firmware package file from the received content fragment; and performing the firmware update using the firmware package file.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for managing a preference channel are provided which can reduce a delay time when a channel change is made between preference channels, by storing a preference channel directly selected by a mobile terminal user in a mobile broadcast system. A mobile terminal receives and demultiplexes multiplexed logical channels on which data streams are transmitted from a service provider through a communication network. Preference channels of the demultiplexed logical channels are dynamically allocated to decoding buffers using stored information. A decoding time at which data of the decoding buffers is accessed and decoded is computed using reference information. A decoding operation is performed at the computed decoding time, and decoded channel-by-channel elementary streams are stored in a memory. The decoded channel-by-channel elementary streams stored in the memory are displayed on a screen of the mobile terminal.

A computer-readable recording medium is disclosed for storing stereoscopic content having two or more tracks and stereoscopic video-related information of each track in the stereoscopic content. The medium includes a duplication indication field indicating duplication of stereoscopic video-related information of each track in the stereoscopic content, and a track reference field including information used to connect a current track to at least one other track to which the current rack refers.

Abstract: A method for providing a notification message in a transmitter of a mobile broadcast system supporting an interaction channel is disclosed. Upon an occurrence of a notification event, a first means generates a notification message, and generates at least one delivery request message including a target address based on subscription information of the corresponding terminal, using the generated notification message. A second means determines a channel over which it will deliver a notification message to the corresponding terminal based on the target address, and delivers the notification message over the determined channel.

Abstract: Disclosed is a mobile communication system for providing a number of User Equipment (UEs) positioned in a plurality of cells with Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS) using CDMA technology. A Radio Network Controller (RNC) transmits a MBMS availability message to each of the plurality of cells under management regarding at least one MBMS which is available in a corresponding cell in order to support the mobility of the UE which receives the MBMS. The UE decides whether it can receive a desired MBMS in the current cell, after receiving the MBMS availability message, and requests the desired MBMS or reselects another cell. The continuity of MBMS reception is improved while UEs using the MBMS are moving and the overhead of RRC connection setup for unnecessary MBMS request is reduced.

Abstract: A user interface method and apparatus for a Rich Media service in a terminal. A decoder decodes a received stream to check a header of the received stream. A renderer adaptively composes a scene using scene composition elements of the received stream, according to adaptation information in the header checked by the decoder, and a display displays the adaptively composed scene.

Abstract: Disclosed is a DVB-H CBMS system by which a user can continue to view a program being in service even when the transport stream or IP platform changes while the user views the program. In the DVB-H CBMS system, the system transmits service mapping information according to transport streams or IP platforms to the terminal, so that the system can provide a service without interruption to the terminal even when a user of the terminal moves out of a current cell or network into a new cell or network while receiving a service that the user selected.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for sending a broadcast service in a digital broadcasting system. The method includes assigning a same Internet Protocol (IP) address for a common broadcast service when the common broadcast service is provided in at least two IP platforms, each of the at least two IP platforms providing a broadcast service to a terminal; delivering the common broadcast service using the same IP address; and delivering related information relevant to the common broadcast service.
