Abstract: On a digital mixer, each channel is given a channel definition defining whether the channel is to be used individually or to be used as a group along with a certain channel. When a channel strip to which a user desires to assign and a channel which the user desires to assign are selected, it is determined whether the selected channel is a channel to be used individually or to be used as a group. When it is determined that the selected channel is to be used as a group, channels belonging to the group are assigned to the selected channel strip so that the user can concurrently control respective channels' values of a parameter by use of an operating element provided on the selected channel strip.

Abstract: In a digital mixer that processes audio signals in a plurality of channels, layer data which indicates a channel to be assigned to each channel strip in a channel strip section can be set to indicate retainment of assignment status for any of the channel strips. When the layer is selected, the digital mixer assigns the channel indicated by the layer data corresponding to the selected layer to each channel strip for which assignment of some channel is indicated, and leaves the assignment of the channel unchanged regarding the channel strip for which retainment of assignment status is indicated in the layer data.

Abstract: A sub-console 1200 has a lower channel strip group 40 on a front panel 1202, and an upper channel strip group 42 on a rear panel 1206. Left and right displays 52 and 54 are provided between the upper and lower channel strip groups 42 and 40. Either one of the parameter of the upper and lower channel strip groups 42 and 40 is displayed on the left and right displays 52 and 54. With this structure, the width of the sub-console 1200 can be reduced, and the positional correspondence relationship between the respective channel strip groups and the left and right displays 52 and 54 can be maintained. Accordingly, a high operability can be realized.

Abstract: In a mixing system where a console, engine and I/O devices, each possessing a plurality of supply sources and destinations, are connected to a network, a plurality of transmission channels of the network are allocated to the individual devices. In response to human operator's connection instruction given via the console for instructing a connection between a supply source possessed by one of the devices and a supply destination possessed by another of the devices, the device possessing the supply source transmits an audio signal of the supply source to the network using one of the transmission channels allocated to the device. The device possessing the signal supply destination, for which the connection instruction has been given, receives the audio signal transmitted via the transmission channel and supplies the received audio signal to the supply destination.

Abstract: In each of a plurality of input channels of an audio mixer, there are provided a fader operator for adjusting a tone volume level, and a send level adjustment section for adjusting a send level of an audio signal to be sent from the channel to individual mixing buses. On an operation panel of the mixer, there are provided a plurality of bus selection switches in corresponding relation to the mixing buses. Once any one of the bus selection switches is depressed once, the mixing bus corresponding to the operated bus selection switch is allocated to a selected send level operator. Activation/deactivation of a Sends On Fader (SOF) function may be instructed by a user depressing any one of the bus selection switches twice in succession.

Abstract: When a jump instruction to display contents regarding a control out of contents in a help screen is given, if the jump instruction is given for a control with the same identification data as that of a control for which a preceding instruction is given, an explanation at a position next to a position of contents displayed in response to the preceding jump instruction is displayed on the help screen, out of the contents of a help data corresponding to the identification data of the control. If the jump instruction is given for a control with different identification from that of the control corresponding to the preceding jump instruction, an explanation at a head position, out of explanations in the help data corresponding to the identification data of the control for which the current jump instruction is given is displayed on the help screen.

Abstract: Each of level meter block images 21 to 2m arranged on a touch panel display 1 displays, as a bar graph, respective signal levels of channels of a corresponding one of m blocks into which a plurality of channels are divided. The level meter block images 21 to 2m also serve as assignment selection buttons of an assignment selection portion 2. For each level meter block image, an image generation portion 8 generates not only an image of a bar graph but also an image which indicates respective color indicators of the respective channels such that, when a signal type of a channel indicates that there is a signal correlation between the channel and its neighboring channel, the channel has a color indicator of a connected shape shared with the neighboring channel, and synthesizes these images to output the synthesized image to an image display control circuit 3.

Abstract: An audio signal-processing system has signal-processing units connectable to a transmission line. Each signal-processing unit has channels for applying a signal process to input audio signals. A control unit is connectable to the transmission line for operating a target channel belonging to one of the signal-processing units. The control unit has color pallets different from each other and previously selected in correspondence to the signal-processing units. When the control unit detects an instruction to display an operation screen of the target channel, the control unit renders the operation screen of the target channel using the color pallet corresponding to the signal-processing unit to which the target channel belongs, so that a background color of the operation screen of the target channel displayed on a display part of the control unit is different from a background color of an operation screen of another channel belonging to another signal-processing unit.

Abstract: When a copy mode is set, all channel selecting switches on a control panel are set to valid for a parameter copy operation, in which, when an operation of the channel selecting switch is detected while the copy mode is set, (a) in a case where the operation of the channel selecting switch is determined to be a setting operation of a copy-source channel, the channel corresponding to the operated channel selecting switch is set as a copy-source channel and channel selecting switches corresponding to the channel of a different type from a type of the copy-source channel is set invalid so that only the channel selecting switch corresponding to the channel of the same type as of the copy-source channel is placed into a valid state, and (b) in a case where the operation of the channel selecting switch is determined to be the setting operation of a copy-destination channel, the channel corresponding to the channel selecting switch operated is set as a copy-destination channel.

Abstract: In a channel patching apparatus, an output patch setting part assigns a name to an audio signal of an internal channel of an audio device, which outputs the audio signal to a transmission channel of an audio network. A transmission channel allocation setting part allocates a transmission channel of the audio network to the audio signal assigned the name, and performs setting of the audio device such that the audio signal assigned the name is output from an internal channel associated with the audio signal assigned the name to the allocated transmission channel.

Abstract: An array of parameter setting images corresponding to a plurality of parameters, and a plurality of tab images for selecting any one of a plurality of groups formed by grouping the plurality of parameters. The tab images are displayed on a screen in an arrangement associated with the array of the parameter setting images corresponding to the parameters belonging to corresponding ones of the groups. The grouping of the parameters is made such that a portion of the parameters included in a given one of the groups is shared with another of the groups, and a portion of the tab image corresponding to the portion of the parameters shared with the other group is displayed in a display style to indicate the sharing. Upon selecting a tab image, the parameters corresponding to the selected tab image are allocated to individual ones of the plurality of operators.

Abstract: Once a mixer is set in a predetermined operation, an input-logical-channel selecting section supplies sound signals, input via a cascade input terminal, to an input signal processing section via an input patch section, so that the sound signals can be mixing-processed as sound signals of normal input channels. At the same time, a portion of sound signals input via an input terminal are supplied to mixing buses, so that these sound signals can be handled as cascade-related signals. In accordance with a model of another, or cascaded-to, mixer, arrangements are made such that normal-input/output-channel input terminals can be assigned to cascade input/output purposes. With a block diagram display section indicating what signals the individual input/output terminals are currently assigned to within the mixer, a user can grasp at a glance the current assignment state.

Users are allowed to simultaneously set respective on/off states of on/off parameters assigned to on/off buttons by a single touch operation on the touch screen 5.

Abstract: In a digital mixer, a standard mode or a switched mode of an input patch is selectable. When shifting from the standard mode to the switched mode is selected, input port information in input patch data stored in a current memory is converted according to a port correspondence relation indicated by conversion data. When shifting from the switched mode to the standard mode is selected, the input port information in the input patch data stored in the current memory is reversely converted to original information according to the port correspondence relation indicated by the conversion data.

Once a display instruction for displaying a pop-up screen is received, it is ascertained whether or not the pop-up screen currently instructed to be displayed can be displayed on both of the first and second displays. If the pop-up screen can be displayed on only one of the displays, the currently instructed pop-up screen and one-screen channel selection switch are displayed on the one display together with. If, on the other hand, the pop-up screen can be displayed on both of the displays, the instructed pop-up screen are displayed on in a two-screen format on individual ones of the displays, and a two-screen channel selection switch is displayed on each one of the pop-up screens.

Abstract: An audio signal processing apparatus performs audio signal process composed of a plurality of channels each having parameters used in the audio signal process. The audio signal processing apparatus has a plurality of channel strips, each being assigned with a channel and being provided with controls for adjusting values of the parameters of the assigned channel, and has a plurality of storing sections having different priorities relative to each other, each storing section being capable of storing a setting indicative of a channel set to a channel strip for assignment thereto. A changing section changes a setting stored in a storing section. A clearing section clears a setting stored in a storing section.

Abstract: A digital mixer is capable of assigning a desired parameter to an encoder provided in a channel strip on a panel of the digital mixer. The digital mixer assigns a parameter, which corresponds to one of knob controls having switches operable to be turned on, to each encoder provided in a channel strip section on the panel in response to the operation of the switch of the one knob control provided in a selected channel section. The knob controls with the switches are not graphic symbols displayed on a display screen, but are physically disposed on the panel. Accordingly, it is possible to assign a desired parameter to an encoder with no mistake by operating a desired knob control with a switch to be turned on without a mistake.

Abstract: In a digital mixer, a storage stores operating data including a plurality of parameters for controlling states of audio signals of a plurality of channels. A signal processor performs a mixing process of the audio signals based on the operating data. A plurality of channel strips are mounted on an operating panel in correspondence to the plurality of the channels. Each channel strip includes operators arranged for controlling a corresponding channel. A display controller displays a panel imitation portion imitating an appearance of the operating panel and including a plurality of channel strip imitation images which imitate the plurality of the channel strips and which are arranged in a positional relationship corresponding to a positional relationship of the channel strips arranged on the operating panel. A parameter setter sets a value of a specific parameter of a channel corresponding to a channel strip upon detecting that the channel strip has been manipulated.

Abstract: There are provided k operators to be used for performing parameter setting. A channel strip screen displays a plurality of parameters for each of selected k channels. In response to selection operation to select a desired one of the parameters displayed on the channel strip screen, a parameter window related to the selected parameter is opened on a display. The parameter window displays, for each of selected k channels, a parameter of a same type as the selected parameter. Each of the parameters displayed for the selected k channels is assignable to any one of the k operators.
