  • Publication number: 20160362137
Abstract: A communication system includes a sensor apparatus, which includes sensing elements and a transmission circuit, and a microcomputer, which includes a reception circuit, a difference calculator, and a differential calculator. The transmission circuit shifts a transmission time point of one of sensor signals including sensor value detected by one of the sensing elements by a predetermined period with respect to a transmission time point of another one of sensor signals including sensor value detected by another one of the sensing elements. The predetermined period is set shorter than a transmission cycle of the transmission circuit. The difference calculator calculates a difference value so that an offset error among the sensing elements is compensated or a fluctuation caused by a variation in slopes of output characteristics of the sensing elements is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20160362129
Abstract: A communication system includes at least one sensor apparatus including at least one sensing element and a transmission circuit, and a microcomputer including a reception circuit and a differential calculator. The sensing element detects a sensor value indicating a physical quantity of a detection target, and the transmission circuit transmits, as a digital signal, a sensor signal including information indicative of the sensor value at a predetermined transmission cycle. The reception circuit receives the sensor signal through a signal line and updates last time sensor value with present time sensor value. The differential calculator calculates, at a predetermined calculation cycle, a time differential value by performing a time differential calculation to the updated using time information provided separate from the sensor value.

  • Publication number: 20160294539
Abstract: A communication device includes: a plurality of sensors, each of which includes at least one sensor element that detects information relating to a single detection target and an output circuit that generates an output signal based on a detection signal of the sensor element and transmits the output signal; and a controller that acquires the output signal. One of the sensors transmits the output signal to the controller at an output timing that is shifted, by a predetermined period shorter than a length of one period of the output signal, from another output timing when another one of the sensors transmits the output signal.

  • Publication number: 20160043670
Abstract: A control apparatus of a rotary machine controls drive of the rotary machine with winding groups. The control apparatus includes electric power converters in multiple systems, a failure detection portion, and a controller. The electric power converter has switching elements in an upper arm and a lower arm, and converts direct current power. The failure detection portion detects a failure of an electric power converter or a failure of a winding group. The controller operates the switching elements and controls electricity supply. When the failure detection portion detects the failure, the controller stops output to an electric power converter in a failure system, and the controller reduces a total number of times of switching per unit time of the switching elements in a normally operating system.

  • Publication number: 20160006387
Abstract: A rotary machine control apparatus controlling a drive of a rotary machine that has multiple winding groups is provided. The rotary machine control apparatus includes electric power converters in multiple systems, a failure detection portion, and a control portion. An electric power converter has switching elements in an upper arm and a lower arm and converts DC power. The failure detection portion detects a failure of an electric power converter or a winding group. The control portion calculates a current command value and a maximum current limit value, and controls an output to the electric power converter. The control portion stops the output to the electric power converter in a failure system, and the control portion increases the maximum current limit value with respect to the output to an electric power converter in a normal system.

  • Patent number: 9093932
Abstract: In a system, a triangular carrier wave is compared in magnitude with first and second two-phase modulated command signals. Based on a result of the comparison, on-off operations of the high- and low-side switching elements of two phases of a three-phase inverter corresponding to the first and second two-phase modulated command signals are performed while the high- and low-side switching elements of the remaining phase of the three-phase inverter is fixed to be on or off. A value of a current flowing through a first or second bus connected between a DC power source and the three-phase inverter is measured when a local peak of the triangular carrier signal occurs while none of the high-side switching elements of all the three-phases are on or none of the low-side switching elements of all the three-phases are on.

  • Patent number: 8569981
Abstract: In a multi-system motor drive apparatus, a power supply relay is interrupted when a first power supply system fails at time t0. A power control unit doubles a current supplied to an inverter of a second power supply system thereby to supplement the electric power, which has been supplied by an inverter of the first power supply system. The total output of inverters is thus maintained before and after the failure. After an elapse of a predetermined period, the electric power supplied by the second power supply system is reduced gradually so that the inverter of the second power supply system will not be operated to supply the doubled power for a long period.

  • Patent number: 8554413
Abstract: A VGRS device checks whether assist control of an EPS device for assisting steering operation of a steering wheel is being stopped. If the assist control of the EPS device is being stopped, a speed increase ratio is determined so that the rotation angle of the output shaft is less than the rotation angle of the input shaft. A VGRS motor is controlled and driven based on a determined speed increase ratio. Thus, steering operation of the steering wheel can be controlled appropriately so that the steering operation of the steering wheel can be continued with relatively small torque. It is less likely that a driver will erroneously feel that the steering wheel is locked.

  • Patent number: 8433477
Abstract: In a steering control apparatus, a worm gear is configured to have a lead angle for a self-lock operation, by which a worm wheel is allowed to rotate by rotation of a worm but the worm is not allowed to rotate by rotation of the worm wheel. Thus, a lock mechanism need not be provided separately from a gear mechanism and the apparatus is reduced in entire size. A VGRS control part checks whether the worm gear has a self-lock failure, which disables the self-lock operation. If the worm gear has the self-lock failure, idling suppression processing is performed to suppress idling of a steering wheel. Thus, even when the self-lock failure arises, the steering wheel is suppressed from idling.

  • Publication number: 20120111658
Abstract: A vehicular steering control apparatus has a steering direction control device and a reaction force application device. The steering direction control device controls a steering angle of steered wheels by controlling a steering direction control motor based on a steering wheel angle. The reaction force application unit is provided more closer to a steering wheel than the steering direction control device is and has a differential reduction unit and a reaction force application motor. The differential reduction unit transfers rotation of an input shaft to an output shaft. The reaction force application motor drives the differential reduction unit. The steering wheel and the steered wheels are normally linked mechanically, so that no fail-safe device is needed.

  • Publication number: 20120055730
Abstract: A steering control apparatus has a variable gear ratio device and a power steering device. If abnormality arises in the VGRS device, an EPS motor is controlled based on a steering wheel angle and a speed increase ratio. Thus, vehicle wheels are controlled appropriately when abnormality arises in the VGRS device. Steered angle of the vehicle wheels relative to the steering wheel angle is not changed between before and after occurrence of abnormality in the VGRS device. As a result, movement of a vehicle does not deviate from the steering wheel angle and feeling of discomfort in steering a vehicle can be reduced.
