  • Patent number: 10549661
Abstract: A vehicle seat and seating system is disclosed that includes a seat portion (e.g., seat bottom, seat back) defining a cavity with an inlet in fluid communication with a vehicle cabin and an outlet in fluid communication with an ambient environment. The cavity with the inlet and outlet provide an exhaust to allow air in the cabin to escape to the ambient environment when the air is pressurized due to, for example, a vehicle door closing. An acoustic seal is provided adjacent the cavity and is configured to seal at least a portion of the passageway to reduce or dampen sound from entering the cabin.

  • Patent number: 10519718
Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods to control directional drilling in borehole drilling for hydrocarbon wells are disclosed. An actual toolface orientation measurement value and an actual downhole torque on bit (DTOB) or actual downhole weight on bit (DWOB) measurement value for a drill string positioned in a borehole are determined. Responsive to a comparison of target measurement values and actual measurement values, error values are determined. A control command for one or more of a top drive, a drawworks, and a mud pump responsive to the DTOB or DWOB error value and the toolface orientation error value is determined. Additionally, one or more of the top drive, the drawworks, and the mud pump are operated responsive to the control command thereby to correct a toolface orientation of the drill string.

  • Publication number: 20190250717
Abstract: Techniques for modifying a garment based on gestures are presented herein. An access module can access a first set of sensor data from a first sensor, and a second set of sensor data from a second sensor. A garment simulation module can generate a three-dimensional (3D) garment model of a garment available for sale draped on an avatar based on the first set of sensor data and the second set of sensor data. A display module can cause a presentation, on a display of a device, of the 3D garment model draped on the avatar. Additionally, the garment simulation module can determine a modification gesture associated with the 3D garment model draped on the avatar based on the first set of sensor data and the second set of sensor data. Furthermore, the garment simulation module can modify the 3D garment model based on the determined modification gesture.

  • Patent number: 9769263
Abstract: According to one or more embodiments, a method may include obtaining a connection request to communicate with a database. The method may further include determining a predicted wait time for the connection request. The predicted wait time may include a predicted amount of time until a connection with the database will be available to communicate with the database. The method may further include determining whether to shed the connection request before a connection request timeout time. The determination as to whether to shed the connection request may be based on whether the predicted wait time exceeds the connection request timeout time.

  • Patent number: 9746330
Abstract: UMAPS is a multifaceted system that can be robot-mounted, human-worn, or canine carried. UMAPS produces real-time, 3D mapping and localization for the user as they move throughout a GPS-denied environment (e.g. buildings, caves, or tunnels). An Operator Control Unit (OCU) displays information collected by UMAPS; 2D floorplans; 3D textured-enriched surfaces of the structure's interior; and the location of the users within that structure. UMAPS has an open architecture that allows it to function with any OCU. UMAPS has three distinct subsystems: obstacle maps for robot mobility, mapping, and positioning.

  • Publication number: 20150259222
Abstract: The current invention is an electrolysis remediation device and method that will act to saturate an area of influence with oxygen and/or hydrogen, which can easily be placed easily into a contaminated medium with minimum intrusiveness and power requirements. A variety of soil and groundwater contaminants are more readily broken down in an oxygen rich environment. Increasing the oxygen content of the soil and groundwater has been used to address a broad range of volatile and semivolatile contaminants including many of the contaminants associated with fuels, BTEX compounds and chlorinated solvents. Hydrogen is also widely recognized as a required key electron donor for the biologically mediated remediation of chlorinated compounds.
