  • Publication number: 20050073809
Abstract: A drawer for a digital data storage device includes a drawer body, and two vibration absorption members detachably mounted on both sides of the drawer body. The drawer body has at least an accommodating space for receiving the digital data storage device. The two sides of the drawer body respectively have a plurality of resilient members and a plurality of first openings. A plurality of second openings and fastening elements of the vibration absorption members further respectively correspond to the resilient members and the first openings. The fastening elements of each vibration absorption member are fastened inside the corresponding first openings of the drawer body. The resilient elements are exposed through the second openings to absorb tolerance in assemblage and provide effective electrical grounding. A light pipe may be further mounted in the drawer body, extending from a front end to a rear end of the drawer body.

  • Patent number: 6865078
Abstract: A server radiator includes a radiator fan, a frame and a case. The frame holds the radiator fan and has a latch element. The case has a housing compartment, which has an opening directed toward and exposed outside the case, and an exposed opening corresponding to the latch element. The frame may be inserted in the housing compartment from outside of the case, and the latch element may be engaged with the exposed opening. The latch element also may be moved away from the exposed opening to allow the frame to be removed from the housing compartment, thereby accomplishing maintenance without opening the case and saving replacement time.

  • Publication number: 20050038926
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a mechanism for rapidly installing and detaching a hard disk, comprising a U-shaped handle pivotally mounted at both sides of the hard disk and having a latch in a forward side, and a frame for receiving the hard disk having an elastic member in a forward end and a projection on a side of the elastic member for engaging with the latch while the handle being pivoted down into a gap between the hard disk and the frame, enabling the sides of the hard disk to urge against the frame and the handle and be firmly installed in the frame. While detaching the hard disk from the frame, it only needs to push the projection outward until being disengaged from the latch and then pull the handle upward to remove the hard disk from the frame.

  • Publication number: 20040191089
Abstract: A fan assembly mechanism is disclosed for mounting a fan member on a wall mounting surface of a casing, including the fan member having a flat mounting surface and a space for receiving at least one fan; at least one fastening member formed on the flat mounting surface; and an elastic fastener having its one side fixed on the fan member and at least one latching portion protruded out of the flat mounting surface. The fan assembly mechanism allows the fastening member to engage a corresponding hole on the wall mounting surface of the casing, and the latching portion to engage another hole on the casing, so as to assemble the fan member to the casing.

  • Patent number: 6785136
Abstract: A coupling mechanism for radiator aims to fasten a radiator to a heat generating element of a socket on a main board for absorbing the thermal energy generated by the heat generating element. The coupling mechanism includes a first anchor dock, a second anchor dock and a latch element. The first anchor dock and the second anchor dock are located on two opposite ends of the socket. The latch element passes through the gap of the radiation fins of the radiator and straddles the radiator. It has one end pivotally engaging with the first anchor dock and another end selectively engaging with the second anchor dock. The latch element further has an elastic section formed in the middle portion to put the radiator in close contact with the heat generating element. The coupling mechanism thus constructed can increase the surface area of the radiation fins of the radiator to achieve the maximum radiation effect.

  • Publication number: 20040034994
Abstract: A fixing device for a printed circuit board (PCB) is comprised of an axis, a spring chip and a fixing pillar for fixing the PCB on a shell. This device has the functions of fixing, vibration buffer, and preventing electromagnetic interference (EMI). According to the invention, the axis penetrates through the PCB and the spring chip and connects to the fixing pillar on a shell, thereby fixing the PCB onto the shell. The spring chip is elastic such that it can absorb external vibrations and reduce damages to the PCB. By putting the spring chip into contact with the PCB, the electromagnetic wave is guided to the shell, thus avoiding the EMI.

  • Patent number: 6373694
Abstract: A fastening device is configured on a frame to have a plurality of pairs of opposed grooves, a block member on one side of the frame with grooves disposed thereon, and a plurality of latched members disposed on the block member each corresponding to the groove. In fastening hard disk to frame, insert hard disk into frame with projections of hard disks sliding along grooves until one projection contacts the latched member to be secured therein. In detaching a hard disk, push engagement section of latched member to release the projection of hard disk clear from the latched member prior to removing one hard disk from frame. The advantage is that other hard disks may not drop from frame while one hard disk is removed.
