  • Patent number: 5513391
Abstract: A glove provided with a releasable strap system for securing the glove body to a user's hand. The releasable strap system comprises a strap component and a wrist anchor component. The anchor component is able to slidably engage a wrist strap member of the strap component. The strap system releasably secures the glove body to the user's hand such that simultaneouslyi) the wrist strap member is contracted about a user's wrist andii) a backhand strap member of the strap component is diagonally tensioned across the back face of the glove body such that said central component is contracted about the user's hand.

  • Patent number: 5351342
Abstract: A safety helmet comprises hard internal and external shells and a shock-absorbent insert. The internal shell forms at its lower edge and on the outside thereof an upwardly-opening trough in which the insert is inserted. The free edge of the trough joins with the lower edge of the external shell above the bottom of the trough. The two shells, together with the insert, form ventilation openings which are lined by portions of the two shells. The main portion of the internal shell is embedded into the soft-bodied insert, so that it is mainly the insert that contacts the wearer's head, but for the rim portion thereof where the internal shell still surrounds the bottom edge of the insert.

  • Patent number: 5327588
Abstract: A safety helmet is of the streamlined, aerodynamically contoured type, to provide enhanced performance at high speeds. The aft lower end portion of the helmet external shell includes a cavity, this cavity receiving a light-emitting device with self-enclosed power pack. The light device is releasably anchored into the shell cavity by hook and loop fasteners. The light device is sized to substantially fully fill and complementarily fit inside the cavity, in such a way that the exterior face of the light device becomes generally coextensive to the exterior face of the helmet contoured external shell, whereby the aerodynamic features of the helmet are not compromised. Access to the shell cavity from the shell interior face is enabled by two finger-engageable through-bores. The light device can be released from the shell cavity by pushing same with the cyclist's fingers through said through-bores.

  • Patent number: 5231703
Abstract: A safety helmet comprises hard internal and external shells and a shock-absorbent insert. The internal shell forms at its lower edge and on the outside thereof an upwardly-opening trough in which the insert is inserted. The free edge of the trough joins with the lower edge of the external shell above the bottom of the trough. The two shells, together with the insert, form ventilation openings which are lined by portions of the two shells. In one embodiment, the internal shell lines all of the interior face of the helmet. In another embodiment, the main portion of the internal shell is embedded into the soft-bodied insert, so that it is mainly the insert that contacts the wearer's head, but for the rim portion thereof where the internal shell still surrounds the bottom edge of the insert.
