  • Publication number: 20100168490
Abstract: The present disclosure comprises a new method for hydrothermal synthesis of ferrierite zeolite, using tetramethylammonium and benzylmethylpyrrodlidine as directional structure agents, and does not require a subsequent process in order to obtain the acid form of the material. This aspect is very important as it avoids subject treatments of calcination and successive interchanges which degrade the structure of the zeolite. The synthetic ferrierite obtained by means disclosed processes has uses in catalytic processes of transformation of hydrocarbons, such as cracking, isomerization, alkylation, and polymerization. Specifically, it can be used in the isomerization of butene to isobutene. To be used in catalytic processes, the zeolite ferrierite must be heated in an oxidant atmosphere in conditions such that the organic material occluded in the interior is eliminated.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for inline, controlled water separation from a multiphase hydrocarbon production stream. The method includes the steps of directing the multiphase hydrocarbon production stream to a gas/liquid separator in order to separate into a gas stream and a liquid stream. The level of liquid in the gas/liquid separator is monitored and controlled. The liquid stream removed from the gas/liquid separator is directed to an enlarged pipe section in order to separate into an oil portion and a water portion. The level of the oil portion in the enlarged pipe section is monitored and controlled. The water portion from the enlarged pipe section is directed to a liquid-liquid cyclone centrifugal separator in order to separate into a water stream and a hydrocarbon concentrated stream. The water stream from the liquid cyclone centrifugal separator is directed to at least one de-oiling hydrocyclone separator.

  • Publication number: 20060178088
Abstract: The invention relates to stone sawing without acute noise. Acute noise, which is produced by the direct friction between the metal bands and the stones, reaches levels greater than 90 db at a distance of 1.5 m between said bands and the measuring apparatus. By increasing the concentration of grit in the sludge and reducing the size of same, the concentration of grit particles can be sufficiently increased such that the bands do not rub against the stone and the annoying noise disappears, enabling an increased feed.

  • Patent number: 5823224
Abstract: The present invention relates to a slide valve for use in high pressure, high temperature, erosive environments. The slide valve includes a valve housing, a liner defining a flow passage within the valve housing through which a medium which contains fluidized iron oxide particles can pass, a stationary valve member fixed relative to the flow passage, and a valve member movable relative to the flow passage and to the stationary valve member for restricting and/or blocking flow through the flow passage. The movable valve member has an orifice therein and is movable between a first position wherein the orifice is aligned with the flow passage and a second position wherein the orifice is non-aligned with the flow passage. The valve is in a fully closed position when a solid portion of the movable valve member closes the flow passage. In a partially open or partially closed positions a solid portion of the movable valve member partially obstructs the flow passage.
