  • Patent number: 8738663
Abstract: A computer automatically reads each object in a metadata that is descriptive of a database. Then the computer automatically applies a number of rules, to check if the object triggers a rule. If so, then the computer automatically changes the metadata as per an action identified by the triggered rule. After all rules are applied to the object, and after all objects in the metadata are processed, the resulting metadata is used to change the database's structure. The objects may be read from the metadata in an order (e.g. hierarchy) specified in meta-metadata that is descriptive of the metadata.

  • Publication number: 20140090894
Abstract: A system and methodology facilitates use of a diverter latch assembly in cooperation with a lateral wellbore. The diverter latch assembly comprises an upper latch assembly coupled with a lower latch assembly via a swivel. The upper latch assembly also comprises a releasable latch positioned to engage a tieback receptacle located in the well. The swivel and the releasable latch are designed to enable rotation of the releasable latch relative to a tubing of the lower latch assembly during release of the diverter latch assembly from the tieback receptacle. The rotational release system helps provide controlled release and withdrawal of the diverter latch assembly while reducing risk of damage to the diverter latch assembly or other downhole components.

  • Patent number: 8686597
Abstract: A device is configured to inject signals onto a medium made up of conductors and a reference plane. Transformers inject the signals onto the conductors by orthogonal modes. Differential mode chokes each include one input and two outputs. The input is connected to one end of a secondary winding of one of the transformers, or one of the outputs of another one of the chokes. The two outputs are connected to either the inputs of two others of the chokes, the input of another one of the chokes and a conditioner of one of the conductors, or conditioners of two of the conductors. The number of chokes depends on a number of non-differential modes used. The injections that use the chokes are injections selected from between pseudo-differential injections, injection in common mode, or a combination of pseudo-differential injections and injection in common mode.

  • Patent number: 8657599
Abstract: A device for demolding negatives in plastic injection, which is coupled to means for ejecting a plastic injection mold. A guide bushing can be attached to the die plate of the moveable part of the mold, inside which extends a counter-mold which molds the negative and is formed by a guide runner and a head that can be lowered to demold the negative. The guide bushing contains a projection which pushes against the side of the head as the counter-mold moves forward, so that the head is lowered sideways and the negative is released.

  • Publication number: 20140025369
Abstract: A system and method for matching phrases having arbitrary text. A first data structure stores a list of common phrases having multiple words. Each unique word is indexed in a hash table and mapped to one or more values that describe attributes of using the word in one or more of the common phrases. Using the hash table and the list of common phrases, a temporary array is defined to keep track of possible matches between words in an input string and the list of common phrases.

  • Publication number: 20130296082
Abstract: A stand-alone, rigid lacrosse pocket is formed from a piece of mesh netting that is shaped to exhibit a desired pocket contour. Once shaped, a coating of stiffening material is applied to the netting and embeds within the shaped mesh netting to “fix” the desired pocket contour and form a rigid lacrosse pocket. The rigid lacrosse pocket is thereafter attached to a conventional lacrosse head, using the same stringing technique as commonly used to attach the mesh netting to the head. Advantageously, by pre-fabricating the lacrosse pocket, the need to “work” the netting into the desired shape is eliminated, and a player can quickly and easily change pockets as necessary. A method of fabricating the stand-along, rigid lacrosse pocket is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20130215279
Abstract: A method for creating and displaying points of interest in video test results comprises obtaining a plurality of video test results, each of the plurality of video test results corresponding to a tester, and for each of the plurality of video test results, displaying the video test results, receiving at least one indicator of a point of interest in the video test results, receiving a text comment associated with the point of interest, and saving a timestamp that indicates a position in the video test results of the point of interest and a text comment in a memory. Then a graphical user interface is created that displays the timestamp and text comment of each point of interest in the plurality of test video results, where selection of a point of interest causes the corresponding video test result to be displayed beginning at the timestamp of the selected point of interest.

  • Publication number: 20130209070
Abstract: One embodiment of a method for creating composite video test results includes obtaining a screenshot video of a test display, obtaining a camera video of a tester interacting with the test display, and dividing the screenshot video and camera video into segments. A plurality of composite video segments are then created, where each composite video segment is a composite of one of the plurality of camera video segments and one of the plurality of screenshot video segments. The plurality of composite video segments are then combined into a composite video. In one embodiment, audio data of the tester is combined with the composite video to create a composite audiovisual file. The composite video may be played back by a web browser in such a way that a viewer perceives the composite video as two separate videos that are synchronized.

  • Patent number: 8346723
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide for applying modifications to database instances in a way that allows some of instances to be modified without requiring that all of the instances be modified. Patching less than all of a plurality of replicated database instances can comprise applying a patch to a first version of a table in a first database instance. The first version of the table may be replicated in a corresponding first version of the table in a second database instance. Applying the patch to the first version of the table in the first database instance can result in a second version of the table in the first database instance. Transformations caused by applying the patch to the first version of the table in the first database instance can be consolidated based on differences between the first version of the table and the second version of the table.
