  • Patent number: 7564346
Abstract: An MFP (Multi Function Peripheral) obtains a BD address and a device name from a communication partner search response when it receives the communication partner search response from a cellular phone. When the MFP successfully obtains the BD address and the BD address is stored in a device management database in a RAM of the MFP, the MFP obtains a user name corresponding to the BD address from the device management database. The MFP obtains settings associated with the user name from an environment database in the RAM of the MFP and stores the same in an environment storage area in the RAM. A display process, etc. in the MFP are performed according to the settings stored in the environment storage area.

  • Publication number: 20080056799
Abstract: In order to provide a printer for an electronic voting device, capable of smoothly transporting a recording sheet having a free end and capable of realizing downsizing and simplification, a container (7) includes a main body portion (7d) mounted on to a casing (6a) of a printer (6) and a movable portion (7e) attached to the main body portion (7d) so as to be capable of being opened and closed. In a state where the container (7) is opened, a fanfold sheet (16) in a state where a deflection thereof is small is inserted as it is, and the movable portion (7e) is then closed with respect to the main body portion (7d). As a result, the fanfold sheet (16) is retained in the container (7) in a state where the fanfold sheet (16) is largely deflected in a U-shape. The fanfold sheet (16) can smoothly be supplied from the container (7) into the casing (6a) The printer (6) prints electronic voting contents on the fanfold sheet (16) which is smoothly supplied.

  • Publication number: 20070071193
Abstract: There is provided a communication device which has a first communication system that communicates with an external telephone device and a second communication system that communicates with an external computer. The communication device comprises a call unit and a data acquisition unit. The call unit makes a call to a telephone device designated by a user using the first communication system. If a destination of the call unit is decided by the user's designation, a data acquisition unit obtains data corresponding to the destination telephone device using the second communication system. By only making a call operation, the user can obtain the data corresponding to the destination telephone device from the communication device through the computer network which is a different kind of network from the telephone line network. That is, the communication device can reduce user's operations to access related devices over various kinds of networks.

  • Publication number: 20070067831
Abstract: A communication system, capable of offering improved convenience to third parties having no intention of illegal use without affecting benefits of regular (authorized, registered) users, is provided. When a management server receiving an authentication request (containing authentication information inputted by the user of a client) from the client judges that the client is not a proper device based on the authentication request (authentication information), the management server requests new registration in an authentication database by transmitting a “user registration job” to the client. In a user registration server process executed by the management server upon reception of a user registration request from the client receiving the user registration job, authentication information supplied from the client can be newly registered in the authentication database.
