Publication number: 20050082708Abstract: A movable die is held on the front face of a movable platen. Ejector pins are incorporated in the movable die. An ejector unit that is provided with an ejector plate, actuator rods, etc., is mounted on the back of the movable platen. In ejecting a molded product from a die face, the ejector plate is advanced to cause the actuator rods to push out the ejector pins. In the ejecting load monitoring method of the invention, a plurality of monitoring sections are provided in a movement area of the ejector plate (or the actuator rod), and an upper limit value of a forward thrust load of the ejector plate is previously set for each monitoring section. An alarm is issued when the forward thrust load of the ejector plate reaches the upper limit value set for any of the monitoring sections during the ejecting operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 13, 2004Publication date: April 21, 2005Inventor: Makoto Nishizawa

Patent number: 6673282Abstract: A stationary die is held on the front surface of a stationary platen and a movable die is held on the front surface of a movable platen. A plurality of monitoring sections are set in advance within a moving range of the movable platen and an upper limit of forward thrust of the movable platen is set for each of the monitoring sections. When the forward thrust of the movable platen reaches the upper limit set in one of the monitoring sections during a die closing operation, it is determined that abnormality occurs to stop the movable platen from moving forward. If a die closing mechanism is of a toggle link type, the forward thrust of the movable platen is calculated based on the thrust of a crosshead which drives a toggle link mechanism, the moving speed of the crosshead, and the moving speed of the movable platen.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2002Date of Patent: January 6, 2004Assignee: Toshiba Machine Co., Ltd.Inventors: Haruyuki Matsubayashi, Takamitsu Yamashita, Takashi Yamazaki, Motoyuki Miyauchi, Yutaka Yamaguchi, Masamitsu Suzuki, Makoto Nishizawa

Patent number: 6615637Abstract: A screw is incorporated into a heating barrel. A ball screw is connected to a rear end portion of the screw through a load cell, and a servomotor for injection is connected to the ball screw. First, the heating barrel is retreated and separated from a mold, and the screw is moved to the half stroke position. After the screw is advanced for a preset period of time, the servomotor is stopped by automatic decompression to detect an output of the load cell. Similarly, after the screw is retreated for a preset period of time, the servomotor is stopped by automatic decompression to detect an output of the load cell. An average of outputs of the load cell after the screw advances and retreats is calculated and considered to be an output of the load cell under no-load conditions, thereby performing zero adjustment of the load cell.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2002Date of Patent: September 9, 2003Assignee: Toshiba Machine Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hiroshi Katsuta, Makoto Nishizawa

Publication number: 20030145975Abstract: A toggle mechanism is supported at the front face of the housing and a forward end of the toggle mechanism is connected to a back face of the movable platen. Upon the closing and opening of dies, the toggle mechanism is stretched and contracted to move the movable platen forward and backward along the tie bars. An automatic control device calculates, before the dies are mounted, from a die thickness input and the kind of the dies input, such a stop position for the link housing as impart a target value to the stretching/contraction amount that the toggle mechanism has when the dies are in closed state, and calculates, from the kind of the dies input, an appropriate contraction amount greater than the target value, and the automatic controlling device moves the link housing to the stop position calculated and the toggle mechanism by the appropriate contraction amount calculated.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 3, 2003Publication date: August 7, 2003Applicant: TOSHIBA MACHINE CO., LTD.Inventors: Fumiyuki Katoh, Hiroshi Okuyama, Yoshinori Hidaka, Hiroshi Katsuta, Makoto Nishizawa
