  • Patent number: 6553431
Abstract: Each of input and output devices previously forms device profile, and a host computer acquires virtual input/output device information including a pair of ideal input and output devices on the basis of the device profiles of these devices. If the virtual input/output device information is acquired, the input device demands to acquire a transfer path profile included in the virtual input/output device information, and then demands if the transfer path profile is acquired the output device registered in the acquired transfer path profile to connect a line. If the line connection is established, the input device performs data inputting such that the acquired transfer path profile is reflected in the device setting, and then it transfers the input data to the desired output device.

  • Patent number: 5961624
Abstract: In the case where one peripheral apparatus is shared by a plurality of host computers via an SCSI interface, an interface apparatus is provided between the plurality of host computers and the peripheral apparatus. When the first host computer and the peripheral apparatus are connected, the interface apparatus monitors whether a selection to the peripheral apparatus has been issued from the second host computer or not. When the selection is issued, a status of "Busy" is returned as a response to the second host computer. The interface apparatus simultaneously monitors whether the first host computer has released a use right of the peripheral apparatus or not. Even if the first host computer doesn't release the use right of the peripheral apparatus, so long as there is no access for the predetermined time, the second host computer and the peripheral apparatus are connected in response to the selection or the like to the peripheral apparatus from the second host computer.

  • Patent number: 5311370
Abstract: A recording apparatus comprises: a supplying device to supply a voice signal; a circuit to store the voice signal supplied by the supplying device into a memory having a plurality of memory blocks such as tracks; and a control circuit to control the storing circuit. The control circuit can switch between a first mode in which, after the voice signal was stored into a predetermined block in the memory, the control circuit is set into a standby mode and a second mode in which the storing of the voice signal is continued until an arbitrary block in the memory. The apparatus further has a time base compression circuit to time base compress the voice signal. With the apparatus, in the after-recording mode to record the voice signal after the video signal which has already been recorded on a recording medium, a desired voice signal can be recorded by a simple operation. Even if an image signal for after recording was changed during the after recording of a voice, the apparatus can easily cope with such a change.

  • Patent number: 5260790
Abstract: A synchronizing signal separation device separates a synchronizing signal from an input signal which includes the synchronizing signal. The device includes a peak clamp circuit for receiving and peak-clamping the input signal, and a pulse clamp circuit for pulse-clamping the input signal. The device is configured so as to separate the synchronizing signal from the input signal by comparing the signal clamped by any of the peak clamp circuit and the pulse clamp circuit with a predetermined level. It is thereby possible to separate an exact synchronizing signal without being influenced by deterioration of the waveform of the input signal.
