Abstract: An example bioptic barcode reader includes an imaging assembly, first illumination assembly, and second illumination assembly. No more than 10% of a light source of the second illumination assembly is visible within a boundary of a first imaging FOV of the imaging assembly. No more than 10% of a first mirror is visible within a boundary of a second imaging FOV of the imaging assembly. An upper edge of an aperture in an upper housing portion is outside a boundary of a first illumination FOV of the first illumination assembly. All or substantially all light rays from the second illumination assembly that pass through a horizontal window in a lower housing portion form respective angles relative to horizontal that are equal to or less than a second angle formed between a normal line of the first mirror and horizontal.

  • Patent number: 11921472
Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, systems, and program products are disclosed to determine when a portable electronic device is moved within an enclosed space. A processor and memory may control a sensor may store code executable by the processor to measure a parameter at an inlet of the computing device. The parameter may include an airflow rate, an air temperature at the inlet, and/or a current supply to a fan of the computing device. The processor may execute code to determine when the parameter at the inlet reaches a threshold. When the processor determines that the measured parameter has reached the threshold, a signal from the sensor to the processor and/or from the processor to an operator may be sent, indicating that the threshold has been reached.

  • Publication number: 20240067002
Abstract: Presented are anti-buckling cables for battery assembly shear plates, methods for making/using such anti-buckling cables, and electric-drive vehicles equipped with traction battery packs having impact-attenuating shear plates joined by anti-buckling cables. A battery assembly includes multiple battery cells, such as lithium-class prismatic, pouch, or can-type cells arranged in rows and columns, that are housed inside a protective battery container, such as an electrically insulated battery pack housing. A pair of rigid, impact-attenuating (top and bottom) shear plates is attached to opposing (top and bottom) sides of the battery container, sandwiching therebetween the battery cells. An engineered pattern of tether cables extends through the battery container with cable each rigidly secured at opposing ends thereof to the two shear plates. The tether cables are electrically non-conductive and structurally join together the vertically spaced, mutually parallel shear plates.

  • Publication number: 20230181310
Abstract: An intraocular lens (IOL) prosthesis is implanted through one or more corneal incisions made within a predetermined surgical axis defining a plane that intersects the optical axis as well as the visual axis of the human eye. At least two looped sutures are fed through suture apertures and sutured to the sclera of the eye by which a center aperture of the prosthesis is suspended in the plane within the posterior chamber of the eye and centered on either the optical or visual axis. The prosthesis is made of a thin sheet of flexibly resilient material (e.g. silicone, polyimide, acrylic, polypropylene), and can be rectangular, triangular or of any suitable geometric shape. The center aperture has dimensions that facilitates optic capture or reverse optic capture of commercially available IOLs and includes vertex features for resisting movement of the haptics of the captured IOLs once captured therein.
