  • Patent number: 8499609
Abstract: To process a plurality of sensor devices, such as humidity sensors or gas sensors, the sensor devices are run through a testing station and a turret handler. In order to increase throughput of the testing station, several test cycles are operated simultaneously in a phase-shifted manner. The sensor devices are e.g. sequentially fed onto trays of the test station, on which they are assembled in batches. Each batch is subjected to a test cycle. After the test cycle, the sensor devices of a batch are sequentially fed back to the turret handler.

  • Publication number: 20120253691
Abstract: A relative humidity of the environment of a humidity sensor is measured by the humidity sensor twice at different temperatures. For both measurements, a corresponding value based on a saturated vapour pressure at the subject temperature is calculated. The two calculated values derived are then evaluated. The evaluation result allows for a conclusion if the humidity sensor may be impaired in its capabilities of measuring humidity.

  • Publication number: 20120231841
Abstract: A mobile phone comprises a casing and a cavity in the casing. A humidity sensor is arranged for measuring a humidity in the cavity. In response to a trigger, a control unit analyzes a humidity signal supplied by the humidity sensor. A result of the analysis is presented via an output unit. Such device allows for measuring a humidity of a user's skin in case the user covers a window in the casing connected to the cavity by a body part.

  • Publication number: 20120217593
Abstract: The sensor assembly comprises a substrate (1), such as a flexible printed circuit board, and a sensor chip (2) flip-chip mounted to the substrate (1), with a first side (3) of the sensor chip (2) facing the substrate (1). A sensing area (4) and contact pads (5) are integrated on the first side (3) of the sensor chip (2). Underfill (18) and/or solder flux is arranged between the sensor chip (2) and the substrate (1). The sensor chip (2) extends over an edge (12) of the substrate (1), with the edge (12) of the substrate (1) extending between the contact pads (5) and the sensing area (4) over the whole sensor chip (2). A dam (16) can be provided along the edge (12) of the substrate (1) for even better separation of the underfill (18) and the sensing area (4). This de sign allows for a simple alignment of the sensor chip on the substrate (1) and prevents underfill (18) from covering the sensing area (4).

  • Publication number: 20120023277
Abstract: A method for operating an automation device comprising at least one master unit and at least one slave unit that is connected by a first bus, wherein messages are transmitted over the first bus while controlling a technical process. The messages comprise a process image data area for planned field devices, which are connected to the at least one slave unit by a second bus, and a planned reserved process image data area that is intended for possible expansions of the automation device with further field devices is connectable to the at least one slave unit. In accordance with the invention, the method is used to expand the automation device with field devices, i.e., field devices that comply with the Fieldbus Foundation specification, during control operation (RUN operation).

  • Publication number: 20120013326
Abstract: The present idea refers to a needle head, its use in a probe arrangement, and a method for electrically contacting multiple electronic components. The needle head comprises a body with a lower surface, needle electrodes emerging from the lower surface, and multiple outlets arranged in the lower surface. A channel is arranged between an inlet in the body and the outlets for conveying a medium from the inlet to the outlets. By this means, electronic components arranged in close distance under the lower surface of the needle head are directly exposed to the medium which provides a test environment during a test of the electronic components.

  • Publication number: 20110307208
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for adjusting a sensor signal and a corresponding sensor system comprising a sensor for providing a sensor signal representative of a measure other than temperature, dynamic components of the sensor signal being dependent on temperature. In addition there is provided a temperature sensor for measuring the temperature. Dynamic components in the sensor signal are adjusted subject to the temperature sensed, and a compensated sensor signal is supplied. Such sensor system helps compensating for long response times of sensors.

  • Publication number: 20100117185
Abstract: A temperature sensor with a bandgap circuit is provided. The bandgap circuit is covered by a buffer layer of photoresist. The device is packaged in a housing. By providing the buffer layer, mechanical stress in the bandgap circuit, as it is e.g. caused by different thermal expansion coefficients of the packaging and the chip, can be reduced. This improves the accuracy of the device.
