  • Patent number: 7301827
Abstract: In a semiconductor memory device for reading out multilevel data in a time-shared manner at different timings, by providing plural control signal lines for controlling the operation timings of the output buffer circuits, the operation timings of output buffer circuits can be displaced, and the number of output buffer circuits operating simultaneously can be decreased, with the result that noise is reduced. Besides, by allowing the output buffer circuit, which outputs data read out early in a time-shared manner, to operate at an early timing, data output is terminated without retarding the operation timing of the output buffer circuit operating at the last timing.

  • Publication number: 20070169732
Abstract: A parallel guide portion as an integral structure of a sprocket and a vane, as well as a slant guide portion, are arranged alternately on the same circumference, with circumferential gaps being formed between said guide portion and the parallel guide portion, said guide portion having a shape such that the circumferential gaps become smaller in one axial direction of a cam shaft. Wedge members are disposed in the circumferential gaps respectively and are moved in one axial direction to fill up the circumferential gaps, thereby fixing the phase between the sprocket and the vane into a locked state. The wedge angle of each wedge member is set sufficiently small and, by utilizing varying torques acting on the cam shaft, said members are each moved and locked in one axial direction with a spring. Said members are actuated in an opposite axial direction with oil pressure to release the locked state, thereby permitting a phase angle control.

  • Publication number: 20060272608
Abstract: In a compression ignition engine employing a variable valve actuation mechanism variably adjusting an intake valve characteristic including at least one of an intake valve lift and an intake valve closure timing, a control system operates to temporarily lower an effective compression ratio of the engine by controlling the intake valve characteristic during a cranking period of cold starting operation. At a point of time when a predetermined cranking speed threshold value has been reached owing to a cranking speed rise, the effective compression ratio is risen by controlling the intake valve characteristic. After combustion of the engine has been stabilized, the intake valve characteristic is brought closer to a desired value determined based on engine operating conditions by way of closed-loop control.
