  • Publication number: 20020195338
Abstract: A gas sensor consists of a pump cell, a monitor cell, and a sensor cell. The sensor cell is supplied with power to produce a sensor cell current. The monitor cell is supplied with power to produce a monitor cell current. A sensor cell and a monitor cell current detector are disposed between a sensor cell electrode exposed to a gas cavity and a sensor cell power supply and between a monitor cell electrode exposed to the gas cavity and a monitor cell power supply, thereby enabling the sensor cell current and the monitor cell current to be measured without addition of electric noises arising from current components flowing from the monitor cell to the sensor cell and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 6397332
Abstract: A verification data generating apparatus generates data that can be stored in a terminal device without sustaining unauthorized operations and has assured continuity in the order of being output. In the apparatus, a verification data holding element holds a verification data. A data generation element generates a data body at a predetermined timing. Whenever the data body is generated, a verification value generation element generates a new verification value based on the verification value held in the verification value holding element and the data body newly generated. The verification value held in the verification value holding element is then updated with the new verification value. A data storage element stores the data bodies generated by the data generating element in order.

  • Patent number: 6394466
Abstract: An end mill chucking structure for chucking an end mill having a relatively small diameter and used, for example, for deep milling of a die. The end mill chucking structure includes an end mill holder and an end mill. A holder body has a taper hole formed therein. The end mill includes an end mill body and a cutting tip provided at an end portion of the end mill body. A portion of the end mill body located opposite the cutting tip serves as a tapered shank portion. The shank portion and the rest of the end mill body are bounded by a shoulder extending outward from the surface of the shank portion. The shank portion is press-fitted or shrink-fitted into the taper hole such that the end face of the holder body abuts the shoulder of the end mill body, through application to the holder body of heat at a temperature lower than a conventional shrink-fitting temperature.

  • Publication number: 20020050173
Abstract: It is the objective of this invention to reduce deviation in contact resistance variation between electrodes among pressure-sensitive resistor sensors. The sensor is composed of a pair of films. One film has a plurality of electrode portions extending in a certain direction and the other film has at least one electrode portion that is arranged in a transverse relation with a plural of the electrode portions on the other film. Contact points generated by applied pressure are limited to crossing points between the electrode portions of the pair of films. As a result, variation in contact resistance due to applied pressure shift becomes more constant. Thus, it is possible to reduce deviation of contact resistance between the electrodes among sensors.

  • Patent number: 6352395
Abstract: A tool holder includes a holder body which in turn includes a shank portion, a flange portion, and a tool attachment portion; a taper cone fitted to the shank portion; an elastic member interposed between a rear-end face of the flange portion and a front-end face of the taper cone; and a stopper member disposed on the shank portion so as to support a rear-end face of the taper cone. The outer surface of the taper cone is tapered at an angle equal to that at which the wall surface of a taper hole formed in a spindle of a machine tool is tapered. The inner surface of the taper cone and the outer surface of the shank portion are equally tapered at an angle smaller than the angle at which the outer surface of the taper cone is tapered. Through drawing of the holder body, the taper cone expands radially to thereby be tightly held within the taper hole. A spacer is bonded to the end face of the spindle so as to eliminate a gap which is formed between the flange portion and a spindle.

  • Patent number: 6233339
Abstract: According to the present invention, piracy of secret data is prevented without an attack detecting circuit or data deleting circuit. In a secret data processing unit, a cell contains fluid in a sealed space. Code generators arranged in the sealed space receive a code generation request to generate codes specified by the pressure value of the fluid. A key generator disposed in the sealed space generates encryption keys/decryption keys specified by the generated codes. An encryptor/decryptor also disposed in the sealed space receives requests for secret data encryption/requests for encrypted secret data decryption, and outputs code generation requests to the code generator to encrypt the secret data/decrypt the encrypted secret data by using the generated encryption key/decryption key. Both codes and encryption keys/decryption keys generated and used, are not statically stored in the cryptographic processing unit.

  • Patent number: 5957486
Abstract: Gas generated from an inflator flows into a first portion of a main bag and each part of an inner bag, and the first portion is inflated toward an area in front of passenger's seat. Then, the gas filling the first portion which has been inflated flows into a second portion of the main bag. In this situation, the inflation direction of the second portion is more downward than the inflation direction of the first portion. As a result, a speed of backward inflation is decreased.

  • Patent number: 5951038
Abstract: An air bag device mounted in an instrument panel has an inflator for supplying gas, a bag body having a gas inlet hole, and an inner bag disposed inside of the bag body. The inner bag is formed with a pair of first through-holes and a second through-hole so that an opening area of the first through-hole is larger than that of the second through-hole. The inner bag is expanded by the gas supplied from the inflator, while a large amount of the gas is discharged from the first through-hole. Accordingly, the air bag body is expanded toward the waist of a passenger on a passenger seat. At the same time, the gas is discharged from the second through-hole to flow along an inside of a windshield, whereby the air bag can be also expanded toward the head of the passenger. As a result, even if the inflator is mounted in the instrument panel at its upper portion, the air bag device can securely protect the passenger on the passenger seat.

  • Patent number: 5915025
Abstract: A data processing apparatus with software protecting functions capable of enhancing the level of encryption security independently of the memory management method of the system comprising the apparatus. Upon receiving target data to be encrypted, an encryption key generation unit generates an encryption key in accordance with an attribute of the target data. Using the encryption key, an encryption unit encrypts the target data. The encrypted data is placed into a storage unit. When a request is made to process the encrypted data, a decryption key generation unit generates a decryption key in accordance with the attribute of the encrypted data. A decryption unit decrypts the encrypted data using the decryption key. The decrypted data is processed by a processing unit. A control unit supplies the encryption unit with the data processed by the processing unit as data to be encrypted.

  • Patent number: 5913535
Abstract: The present invention provides a manufacturing method for an air bag which can simply form an inner bag inside a outer bag. Cloth members of the inner bag are mounted within the outer bag and the outer bag is sewn together along its peripheries except its folded portion and a gas inlet hole for introducing gas from an inflator, by using threads. Thereafter the cloth members of the inner bag are put into the outer bag, and the cloth members of the inner bag are pulled out of the outer bag through the gas inlet hole. Thereafter, the cloth members of the inner bag are sewn together along their peripheries by using a thread. Thus, the cloth members of the inner bag are formed into a bag. Finally, putting the inner bag into the outer bag makes the air bag completed.

  • Patent number: 5593258
Abstract: A tool holder has a main sleeve to be attached to a tapered bore of a spindle of a machine tool, and a subholder which is coupled with the main sleeve and to which a tool is attached. The tapered shank of the main sleeve is inserted into the tapered bore of the spindle having a taper of 7/24. The main sleeve has a tapered hole having a taper of 1/10. A tapered sleeve which is elastically deformable in the radial direction is fitted onto the outer circumference surface of a shank portion of a subholder body of the subholder. The subholder is coupled with the main sleeve such that the outer circumferential surface of the tapered sleeve having a taper of 1/10 intimately contacts the circumferential surface of the tapered hole and the rear end surface of a flange of the subholder body intimately contacts the forward end surface of the main sleeve. This structure prevents the generation of vibrations during machining.
