  • Patent number: 8374484
Abstract: In an information recording apparatus and method, information reproducing apparatus and method, information recording medium, program storage medium, and program, the titles of contents can be read out rapidly to be displayed. Allocation class is provided as attribute information relating to the attributes of files to be recorded on an optical disc, and files with the class of Gathered File are collectively recorded in a Gathered File area which is formed at a prescribed position on the optical disc. File 1 to File 3 including the titles of the contents are recorded in this Gathered File area. The recording area between A1 and A2 for FSD (File System Descriptor) is fixed but the recording area between A3 and A4 of the Gathered File area can be changed if necessary.

  • Patent number: 8352977
Abstract: The characteristic playback domain of an AV stream is to be reproduced simply and reliably without complicating the management. As marks representing characteristic points of an AV stream, a mark of the type indicating a point and a mark of the type indicating a section (duration) are provided. The mark of the type indicating a point designates a point with a time stamp corresponding to a preset playback timing of the AV stream. The mark of the type indicating a section specifies the domain based on the time stamp of the playback start point of the preset playback domain of the AV stream and on the duration as from the playback start point until the playback end point.

  • Patent number: 8285117
Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a data processing unit that verifies data recorded on a disk and reproduces content recorded on the disk if a verification condition is satisfied. The data processing unit verifies the validity of an ID inserter that has recorded, on the disk, an ID corresponding to the disk. The data processing unit acquires an ID inserter certificate containing an apparatus ID of the ID inserter that has recorded the ID corresponding to the disk on the disk and an ID inserter blacklist having apparatus IDs of invoked ID inserters registered therein, determines whether the apparatus ID contained in the ID inserter certificate is registered in the ID inserter blacklist so as to verify the validity of the ID inserter that has recorded the ID corresponding to the disk, and stops reproduction of the content if it is determined that the ID inserter is not valid.

  • Publication number: 20110131665
Abstract: A configuration is achieved in which content copying between media and content downloading are performed effectively and under strict management. In content copying between media, the identification information (medium ID) of a copying destination medium is obtained using an API for providing a predefined processing, then the obtained medium ID is transmitted to a server to obtain copying permission information from the server, and then content copying is performed under the management of the server. This configuration allows a copying destination medium to be managed, which can eliminate the unauthorized use of the content. Also, the configuration in which content downloading from the server is performed according to, for example, a Java® program allows a ROM disc on which the content is recorded to store the program and to be provided to a user.

  • Publication number: 20110035362
Abstract: A terminal stores in a storage section content distributed from a server and a data access power for deleting a service that differ from a service to which the content belongs in association with each other. The terminal determines, when the stored content requests the deletion of the differing service that is indicated by the statement contained in the content, whether or not the content and the data access power are stored in the storage section in association with each other. When the terminal has determined that the content that requested the deletion of the differing service and the data access power are stored in the storage section in association with each other, the terminal deletes content that belongs to the differing service from the storage section.

  • Patent number: 7844054
Abstract: An information recording and/or reproducing method for supervising the information, such as an input source, in a stream recorded on a recording medium. If, in a reproduction processing of reproducing an AV stream from the recording medium, the source_security_info, which is the copy control information recorded on the recording medium, is read out, the AV stream is read out, and analog video, for example, is output (step 203), it is verified, from the information contained in the source_security_info, whether or not the input source is DTCP-concordant. If the input source is DTCP-concordant, reproduction restricting processing for a video output, conforming to the DTCP rule, is executed to issue the video output.

  • Patent number: 7738330
Abstract: Congested rewriting in the same area is to be evaded to suppress the tendency towards occurrence of defective areas. When a stream 1 has been recorded, the last written address, representing the last written position, is stored. When recording a stream 2 next, recording is started directly following the position indicated by the last written address for the stream 1. The last written address, corresponding to the last address of the recording position, is stored. If the stream 2 is erased for recording a stream 3, recording is started not at a position directly following the last written address of the stream 1, but from a position directly following the last written address of the stream 2. When the stream 3 has reached the end of a recording area, the next following data is recorded as from a position directly following the stream 1.

  • Patent number: 7668436
Abstract: A method is provided for recording video information in which copy control information of video information is managed in the case of copying the content of data from one recording medium to another recording medium. Copy control information (CCI) or a watermark (WM) of an inputted AV stream is detected and whether the content of the copy control information or watermark has changed is determined. Change point information of the copy control information or watermark and the content of the copy control information or watermark are acquired, and management information for managing the copy control information is generated on the basis of the acquired change point information.
