  • Publication number: 20040208135
Abstract: For encoding externally input AV signal to MPEG-TS that enables quickly conversion from MPEG-TS to MPEG-PS, data unit (Multiplexing Unit) is defined which includes a plurality of packet and has data size corresponding to data amount of one pack in MPEG-PS, and MPEG-TS is encoded for each defined data unit. Furthermore, time stamp information (ATS) added to a packet of MPEG-TS which is converted to MPEG-PS and time stamp information (SCR) added to a packet of the converted MPEG-PS are correlated with a predetermined formula.

  • Publication number: 20040184764
Abstract: In a recording medium storing MPEG stream, flag information (encode_condition) indicating that the stream is recorded in a format enabling easily the first stream (MPEG transport stream) to be converted into the second stream (MPEG program stream) is provided. Such a flag information is included in Tip packet which is a control packet, in the medium. Thus it can easily determine whether the data is recorded in this format without analysis of data stored in the recording medium.

  • Publication number: 20040030902
Abstract: The invention provides a recording/reproduction apparatus capable of executing accurate and efficient control based on copyright information in operations to record and reproduce contents onto and from a recording medium. Copyright information for the contents includes information on an input source of the contents. The information on an input source is also stored in the recording medium along with the contents. When the contents are reproduced from the recording medium, the information on an input source is acquired and used as a basis for determining whether the contents can be reproduced and output. Thus, it is possible to impose a variety of accurate output restrictions on an operation to reproduce the contents in accordance with the input source. In addition, a key required for generating a MAC (message authentication code) of the copyright information is transmitted to a device along with an enabling key block (EKB) in accordance with a key distribution system based on a tree structure.

  • Publication number: 20040027393
Abstract: The present invention relates to a video signal processing apparatus, a video signal playback apparatus, and a video signal recording apparatus in which illegal copying of thumbnail images can be prevented. A thumbnail encoder 19 generates a thumbnail image of a video signal input from a terminal 12. A macrovision detector 13, a CGMS detecting/updating unit 14, and a WM (watermark) detecting/updating unit 15 detect an analog copy protection signal (APS), a CGMS signal as copy generation management information, and watermark, respectively, of the video signal input from the terminal 12, and outputs them to a controller 21. The controller 21 generates copy control information of the thumbnail image based on the input copy control information. The thumbnail image and the copy control information thereof are recorded in an information recording medium 26.

  • Publication number: 20030175013
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for recording video information in which copy control information of video information is managed in the case of copying the content of data recorded on a recording medium to another recording medium. Copy control information (CCI) or a watermark (WM) of an inputted AV stream is detected and whether the content of the copy control information or watermark has changed or not is inspected. Change point information of the copy control information or watermark and the content of the copy control information or watermark are acquired, and management information for managing the copy control information is generated on the basis of the acquired change point information. If the input signal has ended, a code for preventing falsification is calculated and it is confirmed that the copy control information or watermark has not been falsified. The generated management information is recorded together with the video information to a recording medium of a copy destination.

  • Patent number: 4928509
Abstract: A method for forming projections on the periphery of a pipe in order to provide branch pipes, such as a manifold for automobiles, is characterized in that the branch pipes are formed by a bulging process to have a predetermined thickness without thinning. A first embodiment includes the step of indenting a pipe member by press work or the like, at locations close to the position of a projection which is to be formed, in a preliminary deforming process. The deformed pipe member is then placed in a bulge mold having a recess or space, with the pipe member being positioned so that the indentations in the pipe member lie adjacent the recess in the bulge mold. Pressurized fluid is then introduced into the interior of the pipe member to bulge the wall of the pipe member into the recess in the bulge mold. A second embodiment employs a bulge mold having fixed recesses or spaces and variable recesses or spaces for forming a plurality of projections.
