The electronic throttle device is configured with a DC motor type, and the fresh air introduction valve is configured with a step motor type. Upon determining that the engine is decelerating, the ECU causes the EGR valve to close fully and the fresh air introduction valve to open to a predetermined degree, while also controlling the electronic throttle device to close to a predetermined opening degree, thereby adjusting the total intake amount to the engine.
