  • Publication number: 20110134288
Abstract: Correction processing of crosstalk amount is adaptively performed even under conditions where optical conditions, such as a lens to be used, are unknown. Relative change among crosstalk amount is calculated based on a proportion of the sum of signal amount of RGB signals as to the signal amount of white signals. Next, upon calculating crosstalk correction coefficients corresponding to the current crosstalk amount from a relational expression of crosstalk correction coefficients obtained beforehand and crosstalk amount, the signal of a pixel to be corrected is corrected by subtracting several tenths of adjacent pixel signals from the signal of the pixel to be corrected, as crosstalk amount.

  • Publication number: 20090072123
Abstract: A CMOS sensor has unit pixels each structured by a light receiving element and three transistors, to prevent against the phenomenon of saturation shading and the reduction of dynamic range. The transition time (fall time), in switching off the voltage on a drain line shared in all pixels, is given longer than the transition time in turning of any of the reset line and the transfer line. For this reason, the transistor constituting a DRN drive buffer is made proper in its W/L ratio. Meanwhile, a control resistance or current source is inserted on a line to the GND, to make proper the operation current during driving. This reduces saturation shading amount. By making a reset transistor in a depression type, the leak current to a floating diffusion is suppressed to broaden the dynamic range.

  • Publication number: 20080219585
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes the following elements. An image input unit receives a long-time exposure image and a short-time exposure image. An image analysis unit detects a brightness-change pixel in which a brightness change has occurred during a photographic period on the basis of analysis of pixel values in the long-time exposure image and the short-time exposure image. A pixel value correction unit corrects a pixel value of the detected brightness-change pixel. In the pixel value correction unit, a combined image generator selectively combines pixel values in the long-time exposure image and pixel values in the short-time exposure image to generate a combined image; an intermediate image generator generates a blurred image of the combined image; and an output image generator determines a pixel value of the detected brightness-change pixel using a pixel value of a corresponding pixel in each of the combined image and the blurred image.
