  • Patent number: 6491484
Abstract: The multipurpose freight vehicle according to the present invention includes a lower deck capable of loading vehicles as freight thereonto, plural support posts standing up in an opposed state on both side edge portions of the lower deck, and an upper deck adapted to be lifted and lowered along the support posts. The support posts are supported so that they can be turned freely with respect to the lower deck in the direction of a vehicle width or in the longitudinal direction of the lower deck. The support posts are formed so that, when vehicles are not loaded onto the freight vehicle, the support posts can be housed in the lower deck by first lowering the upper deck, and then bringing down the support posts in the direction of a vehicle width or in the longitudinal direction of the lower deck. This enables when the freight vehicle is not loaded with freight the upper deck to be stored on the lower deck, and the support posts to be housed in an upper portion of or along side portions of the lower deck.

  • Patent number: 6439365
Abstract: A high-speed continuous conveying system such as an escalator, a moving walk and a moving slope, in which a low-speed getting on/off section and a high-speed traveling section are connected in a transferring way. At least one movable slope unit using a toothed belt or a conveying roller chain is provided with inclination of a tread face gradually changing downwardly from a horizontal direction, so as to allow a passenger to transfer to a moving slope section provided at an end of a high-speed continuous conveying mechanism and inclined in the opposite direction. As the inclination angles of the slopes are set within the limited value, an angle between the slopes is within a range from 24° to 30°. Thus, a toothed-belt pulley or a chain pulley having an appropriate diameter can be used. In order to reduce a shock in transferring, speed Vn of the n-th tread is set to {square root over (n)}V1, where V1 is speed of the first transferring tread, so that an averaged acceleration is minimized in the transfer.

  • Patent number: 6200078
Abstract: A complex cutting-blade tool wherein a neck having a smaller diameter than the diameter of the drill thereof is connected to a shank. At the place where the drill and the neck are connected is provided a burr removal cutting blade inclined roughly 45° from the tool center axis. A hole entrance beveling cutting blade is also mounted through fixture to the neck, inclined at an angle of roughly 45° from the tool turning center axis, in a direction opposite to the burr removal cutting blade. The fixture can be secured at any position along the length of the neck, wherefore the distance between the burr removal cutting blade and the hole entrance cutting blade can be suitably adjusted so as to correspond to the depth of the machined hole (i.e. the thickness of the workpiece).

  • Patent number: 6098779
Abstract: A sloping transportation apparatus in which a step for carrying a large-sized object periodically appears without requiring any successive operation and which yet constitutes no hindrance to ordinary passengers' standing, ascent or descent. An enlarged step, of which the tread face has a run large enough to place a large-sized object such as a wheelchair thereon, is preceded and followed by at least one reduced step having a tread face with a reduced run (where ordinary steps have a run of 400 mm, 500 mm or 600 mm, the enlarged step is preceded and followed by three, two or one reduced step, respectively), to absorb the excess of the run of the enlarged step so that the steps may be equally joined in a horizontal straight traveling section. Also, a step structure for coupling each tread face to supporting rollers is provided.

  • Patent number: 5622246
Abstract: Three continuous steps (1, 2, 3) of a transportation apparatus, adjoining in front and in rear, are connected to one another by parallel links, thereby forming one step group (123), so that the tread of each step is horizontal at all times. The step group (123), having reached the terminal end of a first stroke track (01), is delivered from the stroke track (01) onto a carriage (7) in engagement with a guide groove (03) as friction wheels (91, 92) rotate. The step group (123) on the carriage (7) is transversely transferred together with the carriage (7) along a circuit which is formed of the guide groove. Then, as friction wheels (93, 94) rotate, the step group (123) on the carriage (7) is delivered to the starting end of a second stroke track (02), and travels in the opposite direction on the stroke track (02). While this is done, the direction of the one step group itself is not changed.

  • Patent number: 5562558
Abstract: A chain for use in transmission and transportation with low friction, less wear, and low noises. The chain has central portions directly in engagement with a sprocket tooth face. Each of a number of pins is supported by rolling bearings attached individually to one of inside link plates and outside link plates, and plain bearings attached to the other link plates. With this arrangement, the sprocket tooth face and pin tooth face are brought into rolling contact with one another, and the link plates bend relatively to one another as the pins rotate in rolling contact. Also, the size and weight of the chain are reduced. Since the entire amount of friction and wear are small, power loss and elongation are reduced to thereby preserve a high accuracy of the chain.

  • Patent number: 5415265
Abstract: An endless track conveyor apparatus having steps (1, 2) is driven by a drive chain (6) circulating along an endless travelling track (A, B-M, N, A) made up of an ascending section, a descending section, and U-turn sections connecting these ascending and descending sections. The endless track conveyor apparatus includes a driven medium having a number of piled-up slats (50), each of which is swingably supported on a conveyor frame. The driven medium engages with teeth provided on either the upper or the lower side of a chain link of the drive chain (6) provided at the ascending section (C-D) of the travelling track. The passive medium transmits the drive power of the drive chain (6) to the conveyor frame. Therefore, the endless track conveyor apparatus travels along the travelling track. On the other hand, at the descending section (J-K) of the travelling track, the load acting on the conveyor apparatus is converted into rotational motion.

  • Patent number: 5295569
Abstract: Escalator steps for loading a wheelchair or the like comprise a set of three serial steps (1), (2), and (3). Steps (1) and (3) are positioned at the front and rear of an intermediate step (2). Step (1) comprises fixed step (10) and floating step (11) and step (3) comprises fixed step (30) and floating step (31). Floating steps 11 and 31 are capable of being separated from fixed steps (1) and (3), respectively. When an escalator is traveling under a normal condition, fixed steps (1) and (3) and floating steps (11) and (31) are integrally coupled to each other for enabling the escalator to operate as a common escalator. When loading a wheelchair on the steps, however, floating step (11) and (31) are coupled with intermediate step (2), whereby intermediate step (2) and floating steps (11) and (31) form a level tread capable of loading the wheelchair.
