Patent number: 5447445Abstract: An electric connector includes a case having a first space for accommodating an actuator and for communicating with the atmosphere. The case further includes a first connector having a first terminal for being electrically connected with the actuator. A second connector is also provided and includes a second terminal for communicating with an electric power source. The second connector is adapted to be engaged with the first connector so as to connect the first terminal with the second terminal at an engaging portion. A seal member is disposed in either the first connector or the second connector and is interposed between the first connector and the second connector so as to seal a second space located around the engaging portion at which the first connector engages the second connector. A through passage is also formed in the first connector to connect the first space with the second space.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 1994Date of Patent: September 5, 1995Assignee: Aisin Seiki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Nozomu Torii, Shigeru Hayakawa, Masao Ohhashi

Patent number: 5287585Abstract: A windshield wiper apparatus for a vehicle includes a rotatably supported main shaft to which a wiper arm is secured, a main lever secured to the main shaft, a cam member arranged eccentrically about the main shaft, a plate turnably supported on the main lever, a subordinate lever having one end arranged about the cam member and another end connected to the plate, an arm turnably supported on the plate and having a joint to which a wiper drive mechanism is connected, and a turnover spring arranged between the plate and the arm for holding the arm at a predetermined position. If the wiper arm is moved by wind force during operation at high vehicle velocity, this motion is compensated for by adjusting the oscillation sweep of the arm in such a manner that the wiper arm will reverse direction at its normal upper reversal point. The wiper arm is thus prevented from striking the vehicle pillar, without reducing visibility through the windshield.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1991Date of Patent: February 22, 1994Assignee: Aisin Seiki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Tokihiko Yamamoto, Ryoichi Fukumoto, Kazuhiro Sumiya, Masao Ohhashi

Patent number: 5201094Abstract: A wiper apparatus for a vehicle windshield having a linkage pivotably attached to a main driving lever. Linkage is also coupled to a motor to rotate main lever for rotating a main shaft limit positions for selecting resting place of wiper blade. An eccentric cam is rotatably mounted to the main shaft with an intermediate member rotatable relative to the cam and attached to the linkage. A driving mechanism rotates the cam to adjust the position of the linkage relative to the driving lever which in turn determines the upper and lower position of wiper blade.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 1991Date of Patent: April 13, 1993Assignee: Aisin Seiki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Tokihiko Yamamoto, Ryoichi Fukumoto, Kazuhiro Sumiya, Masao Ohhashi

Patent number: 5161280Abstract: A windshield wiper assembly provides variable contact pressure between the wiper blade and the windshield by utilization of a lever arm variably movable within a cam slot as the windshield wiper reciprocates across the windshield. A spring provides a bias force between the wiper arm and the lever arm of the assembly. The spring force acts through a moment arm to urge the wiper blade into contact with the windshield. The magnitude of the moment arm through which the spring bias force acts to urge the wiper blade into contact with the windshield is adjusted in accordance with the position of the wiper blade on the windshield as a result of the predetermined configuration of the cam slot which acts on the lever arm to which one end of the spring is attached. In this manner, the contact pressure between the wiper blade and the windshield is reduced at the extreme ends of the windshield wiper throw so as to reduce the noise typically associated with the windshield wiper reversing direction on the windshield.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 1991Date of Patent: November 10, 1992Assignee: Aisin Seiki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Kazuhiro Sumiya, Tokihiko Yamamoto, Ryoichi Fukumoto, Kazuhide Itagaki, Masao Ohhashi

Patent number: 5090081Abstract: A windshield wiper includes a first pin connected to a drive mechanism, a primary lever supported by the first pin, a second pin mounted to the primary pin, a wiper arm fixedly mounted to the second pin, the primary lever being rotated about the second pin by the drive mechanism to cause reciprocating motion of the wiper arm in an arcuate path, a first cam member rotatable about the first pin, a second cam member rotatable about the second pin, and a secondary lever for connecting the first cam member and the second cam member together. The second cam member is so rotated as to allow a center of the first cam member to move relative to a center of the first pin, thereby changing the effective length of the primary lever such that the arcuate path of the wiper arm is changed. A wheel gear is used to rotate the second cam member through a predetermined angle. The second cam member is rotatably supported by a stationary member. A gear portion is meshed with the wheel gear and rotated by the motor.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 1990Date of Patent: February 25, 1992Assignee: Aisin Seiki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Tokihiko Yamamoto, Ryoichi Fukumoto, Masao Ohhashi, Kazuhide Itagaki, Kazuhiro Sumiya

Patent number: 4934748Abstract: A door lock apparatus includes a casing having a lock mechanism disposed therein, an actuating mechanism disposed on the casing to actuate the lock mechanism, and a protective member covering the actuating mechanism. The apparatus is provided with pins for retaining the actuating mechanism on the casing, and engagement portions are provided on the pins and the casing, respectively. The protective member is provided with retaining portions which are engageable with the engagement portions, respectively, so that the engagement portions and the retaining portions are fitted with each other to rigidly secure the protective member to the casing. Accordingly it is possible to mount the protective member firmly and easily. Since the protective member can be molded from a resin material, it is possible to lower the production cost and reduce the overall weight of the product. In addition, since there is no need for special means such as rivets, it is possible to mount the protective member at a reduced cost.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 1988Date of Patent: June 19, 1990Assignee: Aisin Seiki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Shigeru Hayakawa, Masao Ohhashi, Yoshimasa Ishiguro

Patent number: 4902058Abstract: A door lock has an open lever linked with an open rod and pivotally mounted on a base plate and a locking lever linked with a locking link and pivotally mounted on a sub plate, the open lever and the locking lever being linked with each other through a locking rod so that a door is selectively locked and unlocked by the pivotal motion of the open lever which is caused by the pivotal motion of the locking lever. The door lock further has a protective wall in the shape of an upright wall which is formed integral with the side surface of the open lever which faces the locking lever. Since the protective wall which is formed integral with the open lever functions as a protective means, it is possible to reduce the number of parts and the number of man-hours needed for the assembling operation and further use the door lock in common to all types of vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 1988Date of Patent: February 20, 1990Assignee: Aisin Seiki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masao Ohhashi, Yoshimasa Ishiguro
