  • Publication number: 20040140143
Abstract: A follow distance control apparatus controls a follow distance without giving an uncomfortable feel to a driver during a deceleration control regardless of a selected control mode. A front-vehicle running ahead of an own-vehicle is detected by a sensor such as a radar. A deceleration apparatus, which decelerates the own-vehicle, is controlled by a controller based on an output signal of the sensor. The controller controls the deceleration apparatus according to selected one of a short distance control mode and a long distance control mode. In the short distance control mode, an actual value of the following distance is controlled to be shorter. In the long distance control mode, the actual value of the following distance is controlled to be longer.

  • Patent number: 6311521
Abstract: A raw material mixture, which has a glass composition containing a salt or an oxide of a flame reaction metal, is heated, and an intermediate base material, in which the salt of the flame reaction metal, or the like, has been thermally decomposed and which is in a temporary sintered state or a fused glass state, is thereby formed. The intermediate base material is ground, and a ground material is thereby obtained. The ground material is mixed together with a liquid and, optionally, a binder, and a viscous flame reaction material is thereby formed. The viscous flame reaction material is supported on a substrate and heated to a temperature, which is not lower than a vitrification melting temperature of the viscous flame reaction material. In this manner, the flame reaction material is fusion bonded to the substrate. Generation of a thermal decomposition gas in the baking step is thus restricted, and the carrying of the flame reaction material on the substrate is carried out appropriately.

  • Patent number: 5298207
Abstract: A method for producing a filter for use in a fuel flow rate regulating mechanism has a first step of providing a sheet of microcellular polymer material having upper and lower surfaces, each of the surfaces being fused to prevent fuel flow through the surfaces. The sheet of microcellular polymer material also has formations of continuous air bubbles between the upper and lower surfaces. The method for producing a filter has a second step of heat pressing in the direction of thickness to rearrange certain of the air bubbles, redefining same as independent, nonconnected air bubbles. The method for producing a filter has a third step of transversely punching from the sheet a filter element of prescribed configurations.
