  • Patent number: 6918375
Abstract: In a fuel supplying mechanism in which fuel delivery pipes of a non-return type are disposed, the generation region of pulsation resonance is arbitrarily controlled, thereby eliminating various disadvantages otherwise occurring where the pulsation resonance point exists in a favorable rotation region for normal use of the engine. A pair of the fuel delivery pipes 1, 2 of a non-return type is disposed for each bank of a horizontal opposed type or V-type engine and coupled with a connection pipe 4. A characteristic period time of a pulsation wave induced by the pulsation wave generated during fuel injection of the injection nozzles 3 via a connection pipe 4 coupling between one to the other of the fuel delivery pipes 1, 2 is controlled to render the characteristic period time longer to shift the pulsation resonance point out of a low rotation region of the engine as well as to render the characteristic period time shorter to shift the pulsation resonance point out of a high rotation region of the engine.

  • Patent number: 6918378
Abstract: In a high pressure fuel injection pipe, pipe extension and heat treatment are repeated by using a header manufactured by transformation induced plastic type strength steel. A process for depositing residual austenite is then performed, after which a final pipe extension process is performed, and the joint portion is molded and bending processing is performed without performing perfect annealing at the size of a product.

  • Publication number: 20050146134
Abstract: A branch connector in a fuel pressure accumulating container is joined with a through hole formed on a peripheral wall of the pressure accumulating container. The branch connector is inserted deeply into the through hole until the distal end of the branch connector is projected from the inner peripheral wall surface of the pressure accumulating container. Thus, the internal pressure fatigue strength is improved by lowering the maximum stress value generated at the internal peripheral edge at the lower end of the branch connector.

  • Patent number: 6814206
Abstract: A temperature-controlled fluid friction coupling is actuated by a flow of viscous fluid flowing into or out of shearing surface gaps disposed therein. An, the actuating pin is movable in a direction parallel to a surface of a partition. A swing-type valve lever is in contact with the actuating pin near a root end of the valve lever, and a swing end of the valve lever is arranged slidably movable while in contact with a surface of the partition having a valve opening therein. In response to a deformation of the temperature sensitive element caused by a change of air temperature, the actuating pin moves in a direction parallel to the surface of the partition, and then the swing end of the valve lever moves so as to open and close the valve opening. Thus, the fluid flow from a reservoir chamber to a torque transmitting chamber is controlled.
