  • Patent number: 6177660
Abstract: An auxiliary heater is provided for heating a fluid flowing through a pipe. The heater includes a conductor mounted in proximity to the pipe. A magnet is opposed to the conductor with a small gap therebetween. Relative rotation is generated between the conductor and the magnet. The rotation causes the conductor to be heater by slip heat generation. The heated conductor, in turn, heats the fluid in the pipe.

  • Patent number: 6144020
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for simultaneously generating a fluid flow and heating the flowing fluid. The apparatus includes a conductive material provided on at least a part of a member which is rotated. The rotatable member generates the flow of the fluid to be heated. Magnets are opposed to one side of the conductive material with a slight gap and are mounted within a casing for the rotatable member. Fluid flows through the casing and is heated due to a slip heat energy generated by rotating the conductive material relative to the magnet.

  • Patent number: 6128966
Abstract: An inspection equipment is provided by which the endodontic file is examined and judged as to if it reaches to its critical strength. When an appropriately selected endodontic file out of the endodontic files 11, 12, 13 in the kit case 1 is set at the file sample holding portion 5 in the kit case 1 and data corresponding to the endodontic file is input from the data input portion 22, the electric resistance value on the file portion of the endodontic file measured by the resistance measuring portion 20 and the resistance value on the critical strength with correspondence to the data on the file read-out from the RAM 23 are brought together and compared by the inspection unit 30. If the calculating judgement portion 25 makes a judgement to the file to reach its critical level of strength in the cumulative damage, the alarm 19 issues an alarm sound, so that an endodontist or dental assistant knows that the file is not usable any more and should be discarded.

  • Patent number: 6126208
Abstract: A common rail includes a generally cylindrical peripheral wall having a communication passage extending axially therethrough. At least one branch hole extends through the peripheral wall and is aligned perpendicular to the axis of the common rail. The intersection of the branch hole with the outer surface of the main pipe rail defines an outwardly flared pressure receiving seat for receiving the connection head portion of a branch pipe. A sleeve nipple is welded or brazed to the outer surface of the main pipe rail and surrounds the branch hole. Inner surface regions of the peripheral wall surrounding the branch hole have a compression residual stress imparted thereto. The creation of the compression residual stress may cause a portion of the inner surface of the main pipe rail surrounding the branch hole to assume a non-cylindrical configuration.

  • Patent number: 5887628
Abstract: A fuel injection pipe for a diesel engine which can sustain high internal pressure is provided. The inventive fuel injection pipe of a thick doublet pipe structure comprising an inner pipe and an outer pipe and having a thin inner diameter is arranged such that the inner pipe is formed out of a seam welded pipe made of a high tension steel plate and having a thickness of 0.4 to 1.5 mm and the outer pipe is formed out of a thick steel pipe made of the same material with the inner pipe or of carbon steel. Because the fuel injection pipe thus obtained allows inner facial wrinkles of the inner pipe to be suppressed to 25 .mu.m or less in depth, it can fully sustain high internal pressure of 1200 bar or more.

  • Patent number: 5853902
Abstract: A metal support for exhaust gas cleaning has a metal honeycomb core body fabricated by laying a planar sheet on a corrugated sheet and rolling the laminated sheets into a cylindrical configuration. The corrugated sheet has sinusoidal shaped portions having a wave height which is sufficient to contact the adjacent planar sheet and square wave portions which have a wave height which is insufficient to enable contact with the adjacent sheets. The square wave portions have corners which project out beyond the sinusoidal shaped portions and produce agitation and disturb the flow of gas and to induce an increase in the contact efficiency between the gas and surfaces carrying catalytic material. The planar sheet is not limited to continuously flat sheets and can include flat surfaces formed by zigzag or square wave shaped members. These members can be perforate and or made of a mesh material.

  • Patent number: 5749138
Abstract: A connecting and fitting method is provided for metallic pipes with a small diameter. The method includes providing a piping component having a tube wall extending therefrom and defining an expanded chamber. The method further includes providing a pipe member and forming at least one circumferential discontinuity in the pipe member near one end. The end of the pipe member is then inserted through an annular sealing component and into the expanded chamber defined by the tube wall. A diameter reducing area is then formed on the tube wall at a location substantially registered with the circumferential discontinuity in the pipe member to squeeze and tightly seal the sealing component into connecting engagement with the circumferential discontinuity on the pipe member.
