  • Publication number: 20210253643
Abstract: Scaffold peptides and methods of making and using same. The scaffold peptides have a general structure from the N-terminus to the C-terminus, AH1-linker-AH2. AH1 and AH2 each comprise an alpha helical structure and may fold against each other about the linker to form a bi-helical structure. The scaffold peptide includes alternating polar and non-polar regions. The non-polar regions of the scaffold peptide interact with the hydrophobic regions of the proteins to solubilize same in aqueous solutions without the presence of detergent. In some embodiments, the scaffold peptides are used for hydrophobic protein purification, isolation and/or stabilization.

  • Publication number: 20210188411
Abstract: An actuator for imparting steering movement to a tiller of a propulsion unit of a marine vessel comprises an absolute position sensor operable to sense a steering position and a relative position sensor operable to sense a position of the motor. A steering control unit calibrates the relative position sensor based on a signal of the absolute position sensor. Calibration of the relative position sensor based on a signal of the absolute position sensor initializes an accumulative position which accumulates a relative position as the actuator moves over time.

  • Publication number: 20210077857
Abstract: An indoor, stationary, bicycle training device that provides advantages over conventional designs of exercise bicycles is provided. The stationary bicycle may include a tilting/pivoting mechanism to orient the indoor bicycle to simulate descending or climbing. The indoor bicycle may include flexible and resilient frame elements to support the indoor training device to move side-to-side under some riding situations thereby simulating the side-to-side swaying motion of an outdoor bicycle under the same riding situations. The indoor bicycle may include several combinations of frame adjustments to provide configurable dimensions of the indoor bicycle to adjust the frame to properly fit the rider, which may be adjusted based on corresponding dimensions of a user's outdoor bicycle. Still other aspects of the stationary bicycle device may aid in creating an “outdoor” feeling while using the device.

  • Publication number: 20200380056
Abstract: A technique of managing geospatial data includes receiving, by a SaaS (Software as a Service) application hosted from a server, a search query from a client, the search query specifying a geographical range. In response to receiving the search query, the technique further includes identifying multiple search results corresponding to the specified geographical range, the search results including a set of still images of the specified geographical range, a set of full-motion videos of the specified geographical range, and a set of GIS (Geographical Information System) data that pertains to the specified geographical range. In response to a request from the client, the technique further includes storing at least some of the search results in a workspace of the SaaS application, the workspace shared among multiple users of the SaaS application and enabling online collaboration among the users to accomplish geospatial exploitation workflows that fuse multiple data sources.

  • Publication number: 20200255109
Abstract: An electric actuator for a marine steering system comprises a housing and an output shaft reciprocatingly received by the housing. There is a rotor disposed within the housing. The rotor is coupled to the output shaft of the electric actuator. Rotation of the rotor causing the output shaft of the electric actuator to reciprocate relative to the housing. There is a motor disposed within the housing. The motor has an output shaft coupled to the rotor. A longitudinal axis of the output shaft of the motor is parallel with a longitudinal axis of the output shaft of the electric actuator. There is also a drive mechanism disposed within the housing. The drive mechanism couples the output shaft of electric actuator to the rotor. The drive mechanism is on a plane radial to a longitudinal axis of the output shaft of the motor. There is an actuator position sensor disposed on the rotor for sensing a position of the rotor. The actuator position sensor senses an actual steering position based on a position of the rotor.
