  • Publication number: 20100200300
Abstract: A method for separating a hydrocarbon content from a hydrocarbon contaminated matrix is disclosed. The method comprises controlling a water content of a feed material comprising the hydrocarbon contaminated matrix; continuously conveying the feed material into a treatment cavity (3), exposing the feed material in a treatment area (8) of the treatment cavity to microwave radiation arranged to cause rapid heating of at least a portion of the water content to form steam, wherein the rapid steam formation results in thermal desorption of at least a portion of the hydrocarbon content from the matrix; and continuously removing the treated matrix from the treatment cavity.

  • Publication number: 20100106632
Abstract: A method of contracting for the sale of a yield-increase and/or crop protection related products includes the steps of mapping, using geo-referencing technology, areas of a field which have been treated with the yield-increase and/or crop protection related product and areas of the field which have not been treated, measuring, using geo-referencing technology, an amount of harvested crop from the field in both the treated and untreated areas, comparing the amount of harvested crop in the treated areas with the amount of harvested crop in the untreated areas to determine a yield increase associated with the treated areas, and charging for application of the yield-increase and/or crop protection related product based on the determined amount of yield increase. The data acquired may be stored in a database for further use and comparison.

  • Patent number: 7127410
Abstract: A framework defines a minimum set of requirements that all entities within an organization must adhere to when acquiring an information technology (IT) product. The framework has a first policy that each entity of the organization must follow the framework, a second policy defining a business process that each entity must follow when acquiring an IT product, a third policy defining a set of tools for being employed to implement the business process of the second policy; and a fourth policy defining additional requirements specific to one or more of the entities within the organization, where the additional requirements for each entity are defined by such entity.

  • Publication number: 20060037545
Abstract: A self cleaning birdbath with a bowl (10) which is shaped for easy cleaning and fixed to a support pole (14) that has a water supply pipe (13) inside it, connected to a gear driven lawn sprinkler (12) with a converter nozzle (11), that will produce a cleaning water jet (15) aimed downward into the bowl (10) which quickly empties the bowl (10) then the cleaning water jet (15) strikes the water holding surface of the bowl (10) directly and pressure washes it, the entire water holding surface of the bowl (10) is cleaned as the gear driven lawn sprinkler (12) rotates a full 360 degrees for as long as is needed for satisfactory cleaning. When the cleaning is done the water pressure is reduced so the water coming from the converter nozzle (11) will not have enough inertia to go over the rim, the bowl (10) will refill until the water is turned off.

  • Publication number: 20050140094
Abstract: Problems with maintaining the effectiveness of the seal whilst passing containers into contained locations, due to the different sizes of containers which need to be passed through, are addressed by a seal assembly that includes a housing which defines a through bore. One or more seals are provided in the bore. One or more of the seals includes a support frame, an element extending at least from the inner edge of the support frame to the boundary of a through aperture, and one or more resiliently deformable members at least partially surrounds the aperture in the element, and which engages with the element.
